"In the name of heaven and hell, Danny, how could you be such an idiot?" I mumbled.

Danny's phone which I had in my pocket vibrated and the screen woke. For the third time, it was 'Mum.' I ignored the call again, not mentally prepared to be yelled at during a situation like this. Gosh, it's ten to one, past midnight, in the hospital hallway and the plan I made on going to bed early was all screwed up thanks to Danny.

---

Earlier today, Danny was doing his daily routine normally, went for work at the Peppermint Place - that's what the factory was called. I didn't know much cause I was out since this morning and he just left like that everyday, no goodbyes.

He took the bus as usual, got to the Place just in time, put on his working suit, did his job for complete 8 hours and nothing happened until he left The Place and walked home. He missed the bus, wasn't a brand new thing for him anymore. He was walking down the street near some cheap pubs and closed shops, passing through some alleys when this happened.

"Danny Boy." he heard a voice calling his name from behind. He turned his back and saw a red haired guy his age with a lip ring and punk-like outfit. He got his denim jacket on, patches on its back, lousy t-shirt underneath and lousier ripped dark jeans plus a pair of boots. He smiled and soon put his arm around Danny's shoulder.

"Haven't seen you in a while, man. Where have you been?" he asked.

"None of your business." said Danny as he shrugged off the guy's hand.

He chuckled sarcastically, "No need to be so rude, my old friend, or should I say our old friend."

As he finished his sentence, a group of guys with same type of outfit appeared right behind Danny's back.

"What the fuck do you want?" Danny asked.

"We missed you, Danny Boy, so much," he put his arm on Danny's shoulder once again, "remember years ago when you were just a lost little puppy trying to find a shelter in this damn town? Who were there for you, Danny? We were, but you left us. Don't you know how hard was it for us when you magically disappeared and never came back?" he frowned his eyebrows and put his hand on his chest as he said his last sentence.

"Get your damn arm off my fucking body, Robert! I'm so done with you, all of you! Now would you excuse me?" Danny said in anger. He turned his back and was just leaving.

"Well, well," Robert clapped a few times, "our Danny Boy has learned some manner, huh? Relax, Danny, we won't do anything to harm you, we're your friends." he said, and the rest of the guys gathered around surrounding Danny, there was no way out for him anymore.

"I'm not doing this anymore, okay. I gotta go." Danny said and then tried to break through the guys.

"No, no, Danny, we're not doing this," Robert put a quote gesture with his hands, "anymore."

"What do you want, Robert? The fuck do you guys want?" Danny yelled.

"Your promise, Danny," Robert said right before Danny's face, "we want your motherfuckin promise!" he shouted and grabbed Danny's collar.

Danny was silence for a few moment, trying to bring up some memories. Soon he gasped, his eyes were bulged and his pupils shrunk.

"No, no way, Robert, I can't." he said in fright as he tried to get his clothes off Robert's grip but he tightened it even more.

"Promises were not made to be fucking broken, Danny." he emphasized on those two words.

"No, guys please there's no way I can do that. I'll pay you all, just not tonight, and not that way! Now please, let me go." he spoke fast, but his voice were low and shaky.
