"I don't know what to do." I whine, burying my face in my knees as I spin in the chair next to Ben and Kara."You said sitting there, being in his arms scared you." Kara stops the chair spinning by standing up and squeezing my shoulder to comfort me. "And you don't know why?"
I look up at her, I could hear the exasperated tone in her voice. "What? What am I missing?" I look over at Ben who sighs, rubbing his neck.
Kara and Ben share a look before he says, "This isn't something we can explain for you; this is something you have to discover and decide for yourself."
I groan and bang my forehead against my knees a couple times. "Why is this so confusing?"
Kara bends down to hug me, "Aw, it'll be alright. The only thing you need to do is break down those walls of yours and let whatever happens, happen."
Ben smiles. "I couldn't have said it better myself."
I bite my lip, looking at them both before sighing. "I'll do my best."
Calling all performers in The Finale number to the stage please!
They each give me a hug on their way out.

It's Friday, the end of week four out of six. Everyone decided to go out for lunch during break, but I said I wasn't hungry. Alone on stage, I let my hand skim across the metal scaffolding as I stare aimlessly into the seats, trying to imagine myself as a star on this stage.
I stand center stage, closing my eyes and letting the lights warm my skin, to feel the cavernous space surround me in wood and brick and paint...
"You know, you still haven't sung a duet with me."
I open my eyes, finding Jeremy walking towards me from the wings to my right. I smirk. "Well, when you have a song in mind, I'm game."
He smiles, standing only a couple feet from me now. He glances up at his "penthouse" in the sky. "You know, this set reminds me of another musical you love," he looks at me now, mischievously.
I raise an eyebrow. "Oh?"
He smiles bigger. "Care to venture, past the point of no return with me?"
I hold my hands over my mouth to keep from squealing; once I've calmed myself down I remove them and say, "You know I love that song."
He slowly walks backwards away from me, picking up a stray blanket and throwing it over his shoulders like a cape. "Shall we?"
I glance up at the metal fire escape before nodding in his direction, then moving to where Christine would be on stage for the song.
Soon I hear his tremulous tenor start the song, sending an electric shiver down my spine.
You have come here
In pursuit of your deepest urge
In pursuit of that wish which till now has been
Silent, silentHe holds his finger to his lips, tilting his head the way I told him I loved in the movie, walking ever closer to me.
I have brought you,
That our passions may fuse and merge
In your mind you've already succumbed to me
Dropped all defenses -
Completely succumbed to meHe inches ever closer, circling me. My eyes drift shut briefly at his magical voice.
Now you are here with me, no second thoughts
You've decided, decided...Past the point of no return
No backward glancesI open my eyes, unable to look at anything other than his eyes that sparkle with some unknown emotion as he steps ever closer towards me, sending chills up my spine.
