Jin wonders once again, what an enigma you are as he sees your retreating back.

He sees that you have always been strong, but it came out from a necessity. You didn't seem to have had the time to be anything else but. You have had to bear your burdens on your own, no one who has made you feel like you can rely on them. He wonders if you even know how to do that, should someone come into your life to offer that to you, that you can be vulnerable, you are allowed to rest. He wants that for you. He wants to be that person for you, someone you can lean on.

He wants to know you and be someone you can come to when you feel fragile and down and vulnerable. He wants to know what goes on in your day, he wants to laugh with you over the silly things that customers do, he wants to hold you when you need to retreat.

"Hyung, you often go to the cafe to find her?" Yoongi questions quietly

"Yes, she's always working. She's so cheerful all the time. If she is stressed and burdened by the cafe and taking care of it, she certainly doesn't show it. But I know she is, even more so, taking care of the people working in it too. She has never let on about it."

"She seems to be very much on her own."

"It seems so, she doesn't mention much about friends or family."

"She probably is on her own then. You take care of her a lot hyung, she's good, don't worry."

In the meantime, you've reached your apartment, wondering the whole elevator ride why you suddenly feel anxious about Jin.

A lightning out of the blue, you realise why. Jin is taking care of you, which makes you feel safe and comfortable with him. It makes you feel like you can rely on him in tough times.

But this is exactly how Jin is scaring you. You have unknowingly leaned on him, come to want to see him, come to want him around. You're afraid of letting someone take care of you, get close to you, and then once you get used to having that person close to you and take care of you, they stop. Because in the end, they will, in one or another, leave you. And tough times will always come. And then what happens? Your life will shatter, you having become so dependent on someone else that you suddenly forget how is it like to have to be strong and survive. You don't want to feel that way, weak and broken, ever again.

You sit on the couch, digesting this epiphany. You've let him come too close to you and now, you feel like he has become an essential part of your life. You've had friends when you were younger, but they have always had ulterior motives. Chummy, warm, wanting to be friends, but always, always trying to look for some benefit from befriending you. And the true colours will never fail to shine through. You know how to see through them a long time ago.

Even the friends you made a little later in life, were not lasting friendships. They definitely were ones that you put in effort to upkeep, but it never felt real. Maybe it was also because of the distance that unbeknownst to you, you kept with them. Not letting them in, and it hindered you from creating deeper friendships with them. Eventually, what you thought was a support system, was in fact, not one at all. They always eventually drifted away and left you, alone.

You don't know if this is a risk that you can take. You've been doing fine on your own, enjoying your independence and not needing to be accountable to anyone in your personal matters. You were strong, tired maybe, but strong. You did whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted, enjoying the alone time that is so rare, what with your crazy work hours. Jin could just throw that up in the air.

But Jin... Jin makes you feel safe and someone who is steady and reliable. You've never felt this way before despite knowing him for only a few months. The fact that he cooked for you and how he knew that you need the control over your kitchen just indicate that he understands you. The fact that he tried to ease your worry over that, it just showed that he truly cares for you, truly worries about you. Whatever he does, has done, was not out of obligation. He made you feel that you can trust in him. That you can have some faith in him to let you lean on him when you need to. You've never had that. It scares you.

Jin wants to be exactly that for you. Maybe it was in his nature, having mothered the 6 boys in his own way, taking care of them making sure they're fed and sleeping well. Now appears this girl, who has been independent for so long she doesn't know how to let other people take care of her. She has become guarded and wary of people who try to come close to her and it will take a lot of effort for her to trust anyone to be there for her. It is also why he has been trying to do just that. That where you didn't have many friends or someone you can go to when you need to, he wants to offer you that. He has been trying to build up your friendship just so you know that you are not alone, and that you don't have to be either. He is there for you.

He hopes that you will eventually open up to him, and you hope that he will still choose to be there when you do so.
