It was a normal day.

The sun was out, birds are chirping, people are screaming and hiding, and creatures were trashing up the town. Well, you can catch onto what "normal" is.

In the shadows of an alleyway, a girl lurked up against the brick wall. She held a old baseball bat, barbwire wrapped carefully around the tip of it.

The girl made sure her breathing was low as the monsters roamed the streets near her.

After waiting a minute or so, she peered down at an empty can that sat by her feet.

She glanced back up at the pack of creatures, and without taking her eyes away, she kicked the can.

The loud crash that erupted from the contact caused most of the creatures to grunt and glare into the shadows where the girl hid. Most of them ignored the noise, which was good.

Only a couple actually began to near the alleyway, curiously checking out the noise.

Right as one monster stepped away from the group, the girl swung the bat as hard as she could.

The creature's head bashed into the wall beside her and it's body fell limp.

She panted heavily and quickly looked up to spot another one of these "things" rushing towards her.

It gurgled an unknown noise and pounced once it got close enough.

In a swift movement, the girl did the exact same move that she used of the first creature to end the other. It hissed in pain as it's body twitched.

The girl coughed a bit and twirled her bat in her hands, watching the disgusting green blood sap off of the weapon.

She took a moment to catch her breath and stared into the crowd of creatures once again.

She noticed how the number seamed to drop, which was odd, but she didn't question it.

The girl only rolled her shoulder and began to walk out of the alley. Once she was out, she went straight in for a kill with the nearest monster.

Their soft skulls made the killing quick, and a little more easy.

The girl didn't even breath half of the time, she just kept swinging the weapon. The job was messy, yes, but it had to be done. Who else would?

As if on cue, she felt a cold blade hit her.

Within seconds, pain surged threw her arm and she let out a shriek.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" the girl couldn't even take a moment to inspect the gash, only focus on the creatures that desperately tried to maul her.

It seemed like ages, but after a solid 5 minutes of nonstop swinging and kicking, the last creature dropped dead on the ground.

The girl smiled proudly for a second, gazing at the sea of bodies that filled her sight.

Yet she flinched at the sharp reminder of her arm.

She glanced down at the bloody slice. One of those things couldn't have caused it, it was to clean of a cut.

She snarled at the pain and dropped her bat, holding below the cut and glancing around.

The girl didn't know what she was looking for, she just wanted to find anything.

Somehow, she noticed a dirty bloody water bottle that sat on the ground a couple of feet away.

She made her way over and picked it up, it was sealed tightly which was a good sign.
