Chapter 5

New Leader, New Home

I run ahead of the people. They stare in confusement and fear. "I'm not here to kill. I'm here to save my only friends. I have mercy on your horrible souls." I look at Beta and tell her to have the wolves kill a few and follow. She howls back and I pat her head. She begins to open her mouth and run with her tongue out. "I want you to help me find a way out and I will give you and your pack freedom from these horrible people." She growls in excitement.

About half an hour passes and we reach a checkpoint. It would've taken me at least an hour or two to get here. I pat and caress her fur as the others follow. I jump off and tell them to wait there. I see a giant cave like hole and look inside. I look at it for a while and I see something move. I squint my eyes and continue staring. Then, out of the darkness, giant blue eyes open and shine. They start to glow and move up. I slowly back away slowly. "Uh... Beta?! A little help here!" The eyes rushed forward and I panicked. Moments later, Beta tackles into the creature.

She growls at it and the rest of the pack come... to greet it. "Um... Is there something I wasn't told about?" I hear an arrow shot from behind. "Not today!" I turn, grab it, and launch it back. The guy falls.

"Who are you?! Why are you here?! What are your intentions?!" Voices pop from the shadows. Then a few more arrows are shot again. But, it wasn't I who stopped it, but the new addition to the pack who swung her tail. It created a gust of wind and the arrows scattered.

"Delta! Why must you protect the intruder?!" They shout.

She snarls and runs into a pillar, breaking the arch, killing a few people. I step back and watch as she tears each person apart. I start to block my eyes in engrossment and speak. "Ok, I think that's enough Delta! D-don't over do it..." my voice shrinks.

She growls softly as she sits next to me and wags her tail. She lowers her head as a form of respect and waits. "Um... Beta, what'd you tell her?" Delta, still having her head low, opened her eyes and closed them again. I stare at Beta and put a hand gesture demonstrating, 'You want me to pet her?' Beta shook her head slowly as I gently petted the area in between Delta's sparkling eyes. "Beautiful..." I stare speechlessly. Beta growls. "Um... Your green eyes are beautiful too. I mean, it's not every day I get to see a wolf with green eyes or blue eyes. Actually, it's not every day I get to see a wolf..." I start laughing. The wolves tilt their heads and stare at me in confusement.

"Anyways... Let's get a move on ya?" The wolves jump in excitement. We continue running. I check my watch and my phone. It's only 4 am? Wait... I'm not sure if time passes normally over here as it does over there.

>>Back where Lily's at<< (Narrator's POV)

"Mmm... It's already 7 am... Ryan's not back... Looks like I'll have to lie for him." Lily says. "I hope he's doing ok."

"Lily!! It's time to get up!" Someone shouts.

"Ok Mrs. Leviath, I'm coming," she replies.

"Oh, Mom's just fine. Wake Ryan up for me please!" She says.

"Um... Ryan's out... Doing morning training!" She replies in a shrinking voice. "H-he said he'll be at school!"

"Okay! Get to the bus!" She replies.

Lily leaves home and says good bye to Ryan's parents. "How long do I have to lie for Ryan?" She thinks. "I just hope he returns safe."

"Hey Lily!" Someone called out.

"WHA!?" She squeals in surprisement. "Oh, um... Kayla! You surprised me!" She replies rubbing her head.

"Good morning, how are you doing?" Kayla asks.
