Maya and Lucas were in their mothers cafe, Lucas was looking at Peyton's comic strip while Maya was reading next to him.
" When will you get over this obsession" Maya joked sending a look to Lucas
"What" He asked
" You've been looking at the comic strip by the amazing Peyton for like 15 minutes" She added with a laugh as they heard the door open before it closed again when they realized it was Haley they got up and followed her out the shop.
"Haley. How long are we going to do this?" Lucas asked her
"Do what?" Haley questioned
"Your not that dumb Haley" Maya muttered
"Avoid each other." Lucas replied
"You tell me. You're the upset ones" Haley told them
"And you're the one who lied to us" Maya stated
"don't know what to say to you" Haley confessed to the twins
"Just explain to me why you were with Nathan. Huh? I mean, considering the past few weeks and what he's done..." Lucas questioned
" I can't."
"Why not" Maya asked
As Luke said "You know how I feel about him, Haley." Before he started to turn away
"Lucas, fine! Yes. I know how you feel about him. But there is something you don't know...promised him I'd tutor him if he left you alone." Haley confessed which made Lucas raise his eyebrows as Maya had a small smile on her face
"What?" Lucas asked
"I'm doing it for you, Luke." With that Haley walked away but Maya decided to follow her as Luke ran off to join Peyton in her car.
Haley noticed Maya was behind her and stopped "Hey" she said awkwardly
"All that you said doesn't explain why you didn't tell us, I have told you every little secret Ive had even ones Lucas doesn't know like i had my first kiss with junk. But you couldn't trust me with this even though your doing to help my brother which you know for that reason i would be mad at you" Maya confessed
" I know, I just... I know how you feel and I was worried you would fall out with me. Am soooo sorry Maya from now on I will tell you everything. Friends?" Haley questioned
"Best Friends" Maya replied with a flip of the hair before she brought Haley into a hug after which they continued to walk down the street

Haley and Maya are playing mini golf on the rooftop when Luke came up.
"Hey." Lucas said awkwardly looking at Haley
" Hey... I really don't want to be like this, Luke." Haley confessed
" What is that? " Lucas asked as Maya just looked between the two
"This. Us skirting around each other. I mean, we're friends. You know, when you wanted to join the team, I didn't understand it and I told you that, but I supported you." Haley told him
"I know" Lucas commented
"So lets go back to being the three amigos, I miss us" Maya added
