“….nav beta, Arnav beta.” I heard Reshma Auntie’s call breaking me from my thoughts. I looked up only to find her standing there with the packet.
“Oh! Thanks Aunty.” I smiled taking the packet into my hands quickly opening it and seeing the dress inside, that in some time going to be seen by all, worn by Khushi.
The dress was of light bubblegum red color, if you can say it as a color, with a column neck. It’s a Charmouse cocktail dress so you can easily expect the smoothness of the dress. It had a ruffle beading at the waist and ended up till the knees. She’s going to look perfect in this dress. I smiled checking over the dress once again.
“Here take this too.” I heard her and saw her extending another dress packet towards me. I frowned looking between the dress packet and her. She just smiled in reply.
“This one is for you.” she informed after I took that packet into my hands. Taking the dress out of the packet I saw a three piece suit, exact to my style. It sits well with me defining my complexion with its charcoal color. And the wondering thing is the shirt I had to wear was of the same color as the dress I selected for Khushi.
“Anjali beti asked me to give you this too.” she explained once I backed out from checking the suit.
I beamed. Di knew me too well. If it wasn’t for Di, now, I guess I don’t have time to actually go home and get one. I decided that I would go to NK’s dorm and wear something from there, as I always leave my one or two casual and official outfits in his dorm for urgency like this.
“Thanks.” I whisper-muttered running to the changing room in the boutique.
After I’m back from changing I bid my farewell to Aunty and then shooting Pam a ‘Get-A-Life-Duh’ look I came out to finally go to Khushi. Her makeup would have been done by now, I guess probably.
Racing my car back to salon I reached there at the perfect time to see the perfect amusing expressions from the girl my heart was racing about all day. She looked shocked seeing herself, she’s constantly blinking her eyes trying to see if the person in the mirror and she are the same or not.
Her face color rose with facial that the girls did. And the slight blush adding on her cheeks was adding more to her beauty and nothing else. Hair now left lose over her shoulders with the ends being curled, the way I love over her. Her lips adorned with red color lipstick along with the shining gloss while her eyes were defined with the kohl. Her hands and ears were left bare ready to be adorned in my accessories for her.
“Perfect!” the word left my mouth, as I felt it a need to at least tell it to my mind if not aloud. But the word came out aloud with Khushi giving her one of the best smiles to me as if appreciating me. I returned it back with a grin.
“You’re looking perfect Khushi.” I sentenced it walking near her. She turned away just at the moment I caught the red hue rising on her cheeks, making the applied blush to shame.
“Th…Thank you!” she shuttered which I guess because of my compliment. But hey, come on, it’s a sincere one.
“Now go in and put this on.” I mumbled extending my hand to her with the dress bag trying too hard to focus on her eyes and not on the very inviting lips. “I’m sure one of the girls can help you.”
I looked around and saw the girl, I remember as Lily, came forward and stood beside Khushi in a gesture to tell me she would help Khushi. I nodded while she took Khushi into the changing room in the parlor. They had one especially for god knows what. I mean what'd you do with a changing room in a beauty parlor? But now it came handy though.
