Felix laid down in front of me on the grass, his head in my lap. We were on the outskirts of town currently. Felix wanted to go star gazing after I was done work and of course I agreed.
At the moment, he was pointing at the stars and naming his own castellations. I wasn't listening to a word he was saying. I was only memorizing the details of his beautiful face. I loved the way his freckles are scattered overtop his cheeks and nose, and a couple stray one on his eyes. The way his smile only showed the top row of his teeth, but it always managed to reach his eyes. Hell, I loved everything about his face.
"And that one I'm going to name," He paused for a moment and looked up at me. I smiled and ran my hand through his hair.
"Barista Boy!" He exclaimed and pointed to the constellation.
I looked up to were his finger was pointed and chuckled lightly, "Lix, that's the Big Dipper."
He furrowed his eyes brows and lifted his head slightly as if he was getting a closer look.
"Well, it's not anymore. It's a coffee cup and it's named after you."
I shook my head, a smile painted on my face.
"I'll name this one," I said and traced my finger along Felix's cheek, "hmm, Felix."
"That's my cheek dumbass," he said and swatted my hand away.
"It's your freckles," I laughed and pinched his cheek for swatting my hand.
"You can't give my freckles my name!"
"But they're your freckles!"
I laughed as he lifted his head from my lap and sat criss-cross in front of me. He back was facing me and he looked up to the stars again.
"I like being away from the city. It's so much more peaceful out here," Felix sighed.
I stretched my arms out behind me and leaned back, sighing with him.
"I agree. It makes forget all my problems, for just a moment."
Felix turned around to face me, a sudden frown on his face.
"If you ever want to talk about it. You know I'm here right?" He said crawling closer to me. I only nodded in response and looked up at the sky.
"I'm serious...I don't want you to suffer alone. I love you." He said and placed a hand on my knee.
I looked back to Felix, my heart swelling. He loves me? This beautiful boy sitting in front of me...loves me? After all I put him through and after all the false hope I gave him. He says that he loves me?
"You love me?" I asked softly, sitting up straight.
A blush crept to his cheeks and he covered his face. I smiled and grabbed his hands.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to! It's just slipped out!" He whined and looked to his lap.
"You said you love me," I repeated and laced my fingers with his.
He groaned in embarrassment and tried to pull away. My smiled only grew wider and I pulled his arms forward pulling him into me. I fell back into the grass and wrapped my arms around his shoulders so he couldn't get up. He lifted his head so he could look at me, eyes wide from shock. The blush on his cheeks was very prominent now, as he lay on top of me.
I moved my hand to the side of his face and rubbed his cheek, maintaining eye contact with him. He pouted and hid his face in the crook of my neck. I laughed at his embarrassment and moved my hand to rub his back.
