Yami and I met after school to prepare and before I knew it had become fast friends. He had a somewhat dark sense of humor but he was still funny and fun to be around. I'd told him all about what had happened with Blaine, it made him really angry, though he kept his opinions to himself to spare my feelings. Before I knew it, we were ready to infiltrate UA. Yami's quirk was darkness and shadow, he could move through shadows, become a shadow and even possess another person's shadow. I wasn't entirely sure what that meant, but it sounded really awesome.
We ditched school just before lunch, I had some of my smaller action cameras with me, so they were easy to conceal. When we arrived at UA we noticed a giant crowd of press near the front entrance and headed for a side entrance to the school. The plan was to see if my quirk could trick their security and get us in through the gate. Yami was going to hide in my shadow.
I held my breath as I scanned the side entrance, it was clear. My hands trembled as I approached the gate. Willing myself to be invisible, I placed one foot in the entryway. Nothing happened. Breathing a sigh of relief, I took two hurried steps forward. Once I was a little over halfway through I spotted a familiar head of golden blonde hair, Blaine. He was with a group of friends in a garden behind the school. His arms were around some other girl.
I momentarily lost hold of my quirk triggering the alarm and causing a massive steel door to drop down. It was going to crush me! My body moved on its own accord diving out of the way in a poised and precise forward roll, Yami! An alarm sounded from within the school. I hurriedly began snapping pictures at random of the grounds and the building as I tried to regain control of my quirk.
"What the hell, nothing looks weird, and what happened back there? We were fine? What happened to make you lose control?" Yami hissed from within my shadow.
"He's over there...it's Blaine." I breathed, "In the garden with another girl."
Yami growled something I couldn't quite make out before falling silent. I noticed a slight shift in my shadow, it flickered for a moment. Did Yami leave?
"Yami?"
Silence.
Where did he go? I was about to take a step forward but jumped as a man with long dark shaggy hair, wearing a black cloak with a super long white scarf dropped from above landing swiftly next to me. I focused harder on my quirk willing myself to disappear. He waved his hand to the side nearly smacking me in the face. I fell flat on my bottom to avoid him, somehow managing to keep a good grasp on my quirk in the process.
I crawled away from him being sure to stay out of his line of sight. He was definitely a teacher, which meant he was a pro and I had no idea what kind of quirk he had. It was better to run, or crawl, away. When I reached the garden, I heard what sounded like fighting and scrambled to my feet. Yami had attacked Blaine and his friends had retaliated.
"Listen here punk, I have no idea how the hell you got into our school, or why you attacked me, but you messed with the wrong guy, goth freak." Blaine snarled, his nose looked broken as blood was streaming from it profusely. Why did Yami attack him?!
Blaine and his friends had overpowered him and Blaine was about to deliver what could be a lethal blow. Before I could think I turned the flash on my camera to its highest setting before snapping a picture temporarily blinding Blaine and his goons.
"Yami! Run!" I attempted to sprint forward trying to keep hold of my quirk. The two third years that had been holding him between them had dropped him when they'd been blinded by my flash.
