"Warveen, please no. I'm begging you!" I was down on both my knees pleading Warveen to not take me camping with her. The outdoors were not my fortay at all. I never understood how people would willingly put themselves outside with the bugs, especially the mosquitos, getting eaten alive and waking up with itchy bumps covering their body. Not just the mosquitos either. Just any type of bug in general freaked me out. I once killed a ladybug while playing tennis because it was crawling on me. Let's just say that is not one of my proudest moments.

"Arianna! There will be no ifs, ands, or buts! I'm taking you camping with me whether you like it or not. It's time for you to try facing your irrational bug fears and have some fun with your awesome best friend," Warveen said smirking at me.

"Fine, but if we get eaten by a bear and die, I will find a way to blame it on you even after I'm dead."

"Whatever you say Ari! I'm the expert camper here so if anyone is going to get eaten by a bear it's going to be you."

"Johnny wouldn't make me go camping," I said trying to guilt trip her.

"Yeah and if you and Johnny were a thing, I would be dating Kai and have a pet unicorn!" She responded sarcastically. I gave her one last final plea by sticking my bottom lip out and widening my eyes.

"No," She stated. I rolled my eyes. It's now or never so I might as well get a good experience out of this with my friend.

"Okay now hold this," Warveen said handing me the bag the tent was in. "We need to somehow fit this into the car." Overpacked was an understatement.

"We are only going camping for two days. Isn't this a little excessive?" I asked her.

"We will be in the wilderness for two days not a house, so we will need everything and anything you can possibly imagine," She replied back to me.

"You really need your GoPro though?" I asked.

"Yes Ari. We aren't going to have our phones for two days so how am I supposed to take pictures of you failing at everything?" Warveen said teasingly.

"Wow," I said dragging out the "o" sound.

"You know you love me." I groaned back at her.

The car was finally packed and we were on our way to a remote location. It looked kind of sketchy and I could already tell camping was not my scene. We finally arrived to the camp spot and I noticed that we were completely alone. I don't know why I expected other campers to be here.

"Okay, so I'm going to set up this tent. Do you want to watch and learn or do you want to go set up the lawn chairs so that we can sit by the fire?" Warveen asked me.

"I'll set up the lawn chairs," I said while walking away to the car quickly before she made me watch and learn from her tent skills. I got the chairs out of the car and went back to the site. Setting them up was the easiest thing I have ever done.

"Look at these Warveen! I'm a master lawn chair setter upper." I was quick to put my butt in the seat in order to show off my skills when the whole chair collapsed under me, with me in it.

"Oh my... I can't... Oh my," Warveen was uncontrollably laughing at me. "Did you lock the chairs in place?" She asked me.

"You have to lock them in place?" Warveen just face palmed at me. The tent was already set up by the time I fell so she was able to show me how to lock the chairs.

"There. Just like that."

"Well if you would have helped me up I would have saw what you did," I said, still lying on the ground. She reached her hand out for me and pulled me up.

"Thanks," I said sarcastically.

"That's what friends are for!" Warveen replied while grinning bigger than ever.

It was getting dark and I was trying to help Warveen start the fire. Let's just say she ended up doing it herself. I grabbed my book from my bag inside the tent and got comfy in the lawn chair.

"This is so peaceful," I said feeling the warmth on my legs.

"See I told you," Warveen said sitting down next to me.

"Thanks for making me come with you," I smiled.

"That's what friends are for," She responded smiling back at me. I put my arm around the back of her chair and hugged her. Friends are so underrated, especially the ones who stick with you for life. Warveen and I go back many years. We have known each other since elementary school and have been close ever since. She's the type of friend that loves you for being you and nothing else. Our personalities just fit together and it's a friendship you wouldn't trade in for anything.

We sat there until the fire went out in silence and the comfort of being with your best friend.

"We should head into the tent," She said to me.

"Yeah, we can't risk getting eaten by a bear," I said giggling.

So I'm not sure if I mentioned this in a previous chapter, but Warveen is my best friend in real life. Friendship is just amazing you know? Like, our friends are our family and are worth way more than any romantic relationship we will ever have. I hope you guys value your friends and learn something from Warveen and I's friendship shown in this story.
