a/n: there has been a lot of Johnny's perspective but Kenzie's is coming up lol
Johnny's pov
"Nadia, are you sure you don't want to come to my house? My parents would be cool with it."
"No Johnny, it's fine," I gave her a unconvinced look. "I promise." She unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the side door. "Thanks for taking me out tonight. It was super fun, I can't wait for prom."
"Yeah me neither, I hope you like dancing, because we are going to be doing a lot of that." Nadia giggled, and reached up to brush my chin. She kissed my cheek and got out of my car.
"Bye John, see you at school." She got out and walked inside her house. I hate to say it but honestly I wish it had been Kenzie with me just then, kissing my cheek and saying she couldn't wait for prom, but it wasn't. It was Nadia Turner. The girl I used to not be able to stand all because she was rude to Kenzie. The girl I'd purposely avoid in the hallway and roll my eyes at. But, now I realized she wasn't that bad. She's actually really sweet. I don't think I'm in love with her or anything but like Carson said what's wrong with a little second base action?
I went home and went to sleep. At 2 am I woke up to my phone ringing like crazy. I picked it up and glanced at the screen lit up with Lauren's contact photo. I rolled my eyes and slid to answer, "What the hell do you want so earlier in the morning"
"Johnny...",she sniffles obviously crying.
"Why are you crying what idiot thing did Hayden do now",I groaned sitting up. Hayden's an idiot he probably liked some other girls insta post or something and Lauren was having a fit. She started crying harder.
"Lauren what is it",I almost screamed into my phone. She may be annoying sometimes but she's still my little sister and if Summerall thinks he can push her around he's got another thing coming. Once Lauren calmed down enough to talk she asked me to come get her from the ally behind the school. I got up,grabbed my keys, and got in my truck. I drove the the school and saw Lauren sitting on the steps. Once she saw me she darted to my truck and got in the passenger seat.
"Lauren why are you here so late?",I asked. She didn't look so hot. I mean not that I think my sister is hot but she just really didn't look good. Her eyes were all puffy and her face was red. Her shirt was kinda messed up too.
"I just want to go home",she said fiddling with her and Kenzie's old friendship bracelet she still wears.
"What did Hayden do." She looked down and tried to not make eye contact with me.
"Hayden isn't even here"
"Then why are you"
"I had play rehearsal and it ran late so I stayed to help clean up after"
I looked at my baby sister, well she isn't really a baby anymore and she surely didn't look like one. When did Lauren start growing up? More importantly why didn't I notice? I never thought my sister was ugly by any means but I just didn't think that other guys found her attractive. If I really think about it tons of guys hit on Lauren all the time, Hayden complains about it all the time.
"Lauren", I said my voice barely above a whisper, "tell me please."
"I...I don't want to talk about it."
"I'll call Hayden"
"Please don't Johnny"
"Then tell me"
"Do you know Greg Marks?" she asked finally making eye contact with me.
"Yeah why does that matter"
"Well he's in the play. He stayed to help clean up too. We were talking and out of nowhere he kisses me, I told him I had a boyfriend and tried to get away but he pinned me to the wall and kept kissing me..." at this point she started crying again. I started the car and started driving home. She didn't have to explain it to me anymore I knew what happened. I wanted to comfort her but I was to mad to do anything but drive. I pulled into our driveway and carried a now sleeping Lauren inside. I took her to her room and laid her on her bed. I sat on the window seat in her room until I fell asleep too. It took me awhile because all I could think about was how someone hurt my little sister. I was supposed to protect her and I messed up. I would barely let her be near Hayden alone after they started dating but now I leave them alone all the time. It was my fault I should've called her when I got home.
