The warmth seeps into her skin like the sun, soft fingertips tracing nonsensical shapes into her arm. She smiles. The reassuring presence of her cousin's fingers carding through her hair always calms her. The young girl is at peace. The soft humming that her cousin emits settles gently in her ears. The atmosphere lets her know that she will always be safe here. Then again, she has known that for years.

The older girl places a gentle kiss upon her younger cousin's head. Wrapping her arms around the smaller female, she sighs in the satisfaction of knowing that her precious itoko is safe. The familiar lush locks of the younger girl glide softly past her stroking hands, a few strands or so wrapping around her fingers every so often. Her familial affection simmers protectively beneath each of her actions, the older girl taking care not to inadvertently hurting her itoko. She is glad that she has been able to keep the space comforting for the both of them.

Fingers trail across the younger girl's inner wrist. The reassurance her older itoko receives from this shows her how much the older girl cares. As her heartbeat pulses at that point, she knows that her older itoko is reaffirming to herself that she is alive. And that, more than anything is what matters to her. The world could burn, but as long as the older girl continued to care for her she didn't care. Everything would be alright.
