A/N- Just letting you know, I don't have an update scheduled. I just updated when I can.

Many years ago

Derek paced back and forth in worry for a few minutes before he sat down and began to tap his foot. A heavy sigh was heard next to him.

"She'll be fine, don't worry." His wife reassured him yet it had no affect him.

"They're a week early Rachael. I can't help but worry. What if something's wrong."Rachel chuckled a little.

"You should know Sylvana by now Derek, she's tough. I'm sure she can handle this." As soon as she finished that sentence, a loud scream echoed though the halls followed by angry Spanish. Derek's anxiety increased.

"She's fine." Rachel repeated while patting her husband on the back.

A few hour passed and a man dressed in a lab coat walked past the door. Instantly, Derek shot up to his feet.

"Doctor, how is she?" He questioned. The man smiled.

"She's well and healthy, you can come in and see her now." Derek and Rachael immediately walked though the doors. There they found Sylvana laying on the bed, heavily panting but with a giant grin on her face. They soon noticed the small pink bundle wrapped in her arms.

"Hey guys." Sylvana greeted.

"Hey there" Ziana, who had been sitting by Sylvana's side the entire time, greeted as well. Derek looked around. No signs of Zack, the father. He sighed.

He and Rachael both waved in return. Then the tired woman weakly held out the small bundle.

"You wanna hold her? She's your goddaughter." Derek hesitantly reached out and held the her in his arms. What immediately took his attention was the small black-purple coloured ears on her fragile head. The next thing he noticed was her eyes, brown like her mother's but every now and then, it'd flashed red. Derek gasped, he had seen that before.

"Ultima." He quietly utter. The women present looked back in confusion.

"Are you sure?" Rachael asked and he nodded.

"The same thing happened to Aaron remember?"

"But that doesn't make sense." Ziana called out.

"Neither Sylvana or Zack had Ultima blood in them right?" However before anyone could answer, Sylvana spoke out.

"It doesn't matter. She'll be able to handle it." Derek carefully returned the baby and she held her close.

"Isn't that right mija?" Everyone couldn't help but smile.

"So? What's her name"? Rachael asked.

"Aphmau. Her name's Aphmau."

2 years later

A loud knock interrupted Derek's morning coffee. He groaned as he stood up from his chair and opened the door. A woman dressed in a formal suit with a clipped board greeted him.

"Derek Lycon I presume?" He nodded.

"Yes, may I help you?" She nodded.

"I'm Anna, I'm a social worker." Derek was taken back.

"Social worker? Is there something wrong ?" Rachael approached behind Derek and listened as well. The young woman raised an eyebrow before sighing.

"I guess you haven't heard. Sylvana was in a car accident last night." Both of then gasped.

"Unfortunately she didn't make it." Derek's heart broke. Sylvana was basically his sister, he didn't want to believe she died.

"Wait what about Aphmau?" Rachel asked, interrupting Derek's thoughts.

"She's ok but that's why I'm here ma'am. According to records, you're her godparents correct?" They both nodded.

"I was wondering if you will able to take Aphmau in."

"What about her father?" Derek asked and the woman just shrugged.

'Useless man' Derek complained to himself.

'Wasn't there for her birth and nowhere to be seen when she need him. Typical.'

The Lycons looked at each other and nodded.

"We'll take her." The social worker smiled.

"Ok then, I'll send you the files for her adoption. Have a nice day." She politely nodded and walked away.  Rachael walked back inside while Derek remained by the door. He looked up to the sky with teary eyes.

'Don't worry Sylvana, Aphmau will be taken good care of and I will protect her. I promise.'
