Katelyn planted her feet on the ground behind Aphmau as she sits down cross-legged in front of her mother's grave. She really shouldn't be here. Isn't she intruding?

"I'm sorry I haven't visited you in a while, things got pretty hectic." Aphmau perked up and grinned.

"Oh, this is Katelyn, the one I was talking about. You know my friend sin-" the rest of Aphmau's sentence gradually faded away.

'She's been talking about me?' A swarm of butterflies slowly invade Katelyn's stomach as different thoughts began to rapid fire into her head. Was it good things? She hoped it was. Katelyn snapped back into reality at the words of Aphmau introducing her to her mom.

"Oh hi! It's nice to meet you." As expected, she was met with an awkward silence but the glowing smile that graced the raven-haired woman's face made it worth it. However, a sudden ring cause both girls to jump a little. Aphmau, looking apologetic, pulled out her phone from her pocket.

"Sorry guys, I need to get this." She then walked away, her voice gradually becoming a quiet murmur. Katelyn turned back to the gravestone.

"I hope you know that you have brought a wonderful person into this world and..." She paused for a second, attempting to find the right words to say.

"I plan to pursue her and make her my girlfriend, if she'll have me that is. I hope you don't mind and if I can have your blessing, that'd mean a lot. Aphmau loves you very much and I feel like it wouldn't be right to not ask you." Katelyn glanced back to where Aphmau wandered off, longing and desire tugging at her heart. Yet with that want, she couldn't help but feel the undertone of sadness in the back of her head.

"Although, I'm starting to think that I'm fighting a losing battle, I've tried once and that left her rambling nonsense and in tears." Katelyn then remembered who she's talking to and stopped.

"Ah sorry, that's must be inappropriate considering you're her mom. I didn't mean to be rude." Katelyn flinched as leaves and sticks cracked in the distance warning her of Aphmau's return. She should really stop talking.

"Anyway, it was nice meeting you." Katelyn gave a polite nod before walking towards the ravenette. However, as she stepped forward, a sudden burst of wind, which is uncommon during the warm summer days, rushed past the blue haired girl, propelling her a little further causing her to bump into Aphmau. With a sheepish apology, her teal eyes couldn't help but scan the immediate area. She found herself locked onto the grave behind her and she smiled, offering a silent thank you before walking away.

-

'To be honest, this was probably not a good idea...' Katelyn thought to herself as she sat there on the cushioned seats of a local cafe, desperately trying not to drown in this sea of discomfort that both she and Aphmau found themselves in.
