I think I fell for my best friend

Chapter 5

"Hey do you know where the dance store opening show is? I need to get shoes and tights for the nutcracker and everyone keeps telling me that's where I should go."-John

"Yeah. Actually I have to go there this Thursday for a pointe shoe fitting on tonight at six so why don't you come just come with me."-Ray

"Okay sounds great see you then!"-John

*It has been a few weeks since homecoming and a lot has changed for Ray. She finally realized how crappy her ex was and Nichole had set her up with the guy she likes brother.*

"Who ya texting? Is it the new guy in your life you still need to give me the details about?" Lee says trying to sneak a peak at my phone screen.

"No just John asking me about opening show." I nonchalantly reply.

"I still think he has a thing for you." Lee says after taking a moment to think. Then I can feel a blush coming on but I have no idea why. I don't like him in that way he more like a brother to me than anything else. So why am I starting to blush? Then to quickly cover it up I started to glare a Lee hoping my friends think I'm just red out of annoyance. "Hey no need to shoot lasers I'm just staying what I see."

"Whatever, lunch is over see you guys later." The day passes by pretty quickly after that and before I know it I'm in the car with my mom, sister, and John.

"So I hope you kids don't mind but I also have to stop by a computer store after the dance store."

"That's fine mom." I say trying to pick some music to listen to.

We eventually pull into the parking lot and all file into opening show. And after about an hour later we're talking back out me with a new pair of pointe shoes and a new pair of flats. John with whatever our director told him he needed. Then within 15 minuets we're filing into the computer store.

"So ray and John you guys can go walk around, Chloe you stay with me." And right away my little sister Chloe starts whining which me and John see as a signal to walk away. At first we just kinda walked in silence looking at all the stuff the store had to offer. Eventually we just started chatting about the most random things. Talking about anything and everything. It almost felt weird to me because talking to a guy has never been this easy for me and I didn't understand why until I turned my head to look at him. Then it hit me like a train.

After we finally got back home and John left I texted Lee straight away.

"Lee we have a problem..."-Ray

"What, what's wrong are you okay?"-Lee

"Yeah I'm fine it's just..."

"Just what? Ray you're scaring me."-Lee

"I think I like John..."-Ray

"Oh my god Ray I knew it I so called it."-Lee

"Yeah I guess you did."-Ray

"So what brought you to your new discovery?"-Lee

"Well we were walking around that computer store by opening show and he was telling me about his guy best friend and I turned my head to look at him and when I did he turned to look at me at the same time and we made dead eye contact and it was like time stopped like it does in the movies."-Ray

"Wow"-Lee

"To bad he'll never feel the same way"-Ray

"Aww sweetie you don't know that."-Lee

"Wait a minute what about this Riley guy?"-Lee

"I don't think I actually like him. He's just not really my type you know?"- Ray

"Yeah I get it well we should probably get some sleep goodnight R."-Lee

"Night"-Ray

I then put dont my phone and tried to sleep and not think about John and Riley and guys in general. But no matter what I did I just couldn't sleep. So eventually I decided to give up and lay there thinking all about John.

AUTHORS NOTE

Hey guys I'm back with another update this one being longer like I promised they would start being this one being exactly 700 words long not including the authors note I know it may not seem like much but my goal is eventually 1,000 words per chapter I just have to work my way there anyway I'm gonna start putting the word count at the end of each chapter so we can all see how much the chapters are growing ANYWAY I hope you enjoyed this chapter until next time bye.
