As a writer, I've found that I have a huge platform to say what I feel. I have a large audience to reach in my work, and it's occurred to me that I should take advantage of that and use it as an opportunity to spread good to the world.
In this book, I used the characters' articles to help raise awareness to social issues and hopefully bring a little more peace to the world in the process. I believe that if I can touch even one person's heart with this gesture, it's well worth it. That's why Joseph's articles were raising awareness for the LGBTQ+ community; Kate's article was shining a light on animal rights, abuse, and the overwhelming need for more people to adopt; and Alex's article brought to light a side of the story you don't often hear with regards to mental health and suicide.
My voice may be small, and I may just be one person, but I believe that any single step in the right direction is one step closer to an end result that will make everyone's hearts full of happiness. I hope you close this book with a fuller heart than when you opened it.
