The sun had just risen as we approached a small, broken down village in the middle of the desert. Our plan was to take a rest and search if there was any signs of recent living in the houses.

The place had been completely zapped of life just like all the other small ghost towns we passed through. There was no sign of human life nor communication.

"I'm exhausted. I feel like I'm about to faint, this shit sucks." Gaby moaned in despair.

I looked down at my feet. I felt guilty for dragging my friends into my own problems. If only I hadn't been associated with Zenoc, if only I hadn't been saved, if only I knew that Grayus would be in on this, I could have prevented it all. It didn't have to end up this way, they would've been okay right now.

Khai approached my from the side, "Hey are you okay? What's up?"

"I'm just sorry for all of you." I glanced at my team, "I could have prevented this all. I shouldn't have dragged you guys into this mess."

"Don't ever say that it's your fault. Look, we're all okay. We would've been trapped in that room with tranquilizers zapped into us. Plus, it looks like Grayus could have betrayed us even if you weren't in the ACES. We're glad to have you her and we couldn't ask for anything better. Don't blame yourself. You've gone through so much shit in your life, even I would've given up halfway. Don't forget how strong you are." Khai reassured me.

"You're a queen and don't ever forget that." Gaby smilled.

"Wow Khai, you should be a TED speaker. So motivational, I'm crying." He said sarcastically. I looked over at Adrian and he was actually crying. Picture river tears flowing out of eyes like the ones in anime. I gave him a pointed look and tried not to laugh. "Don't look at me like that, things got sentimental. But yeah, don't look down on yourself like that and take the responsibility. We're all in this together."

"Yo, did you really watch that old ass film. What was it called... Oh! High School Musical. That film is literally as old as my dad." Jonah teased.

Adrian looked at him offended. "It's a classic, don't ever come for an art like that ever again."

As if on cue, we heard a loud slam and a recognizable shriek came from one of the abandoned buildings. It sounded like the sounds were coming from more than two beings.

'Oh fuck, not again." I cursed.

They appeared in front of us, there were exactly four skeleton like monsters. They moved as if they were possessed by an evil entity, as if they had no soul.

"The car is too far away from us, we have to fend them off for now until we get near. Stay together! Don't separate!" I yelled.

By instinct of course I was panicking, I've never seen a creepier looking shit ever in my life. They stood there for a second until they charged towards us one by one. Although they looked like they had the motor skills of a zombie, they were far from it. They were fast and could quickly regenerate from a harsh blow.

I hopped into action mode, ready with my electric whip in my hand. I glanced around to see if everyone was ready until something caught my attention. Jonah had a steel bow with arrows that had neon electric waves coming out of them.

I shouted at Jonah. "Where the hell did you get that from and why didn't I know?"

"Because no one fucking pays attention to me until I benefit somehow, I've had it on my back this whole time Kat! I got it when I went to get the bags. Appreciate me more! Also they're coming right at us!" Jonah shrieked.

I looked back at the skeletons. They were much closer and thankfully my whip could reach the one in the front. The whip wrapped around it's leg and it went flying to the ground, while the electric waves shocked the other skeletons. They were stunned for a short second which gave my teammates time to get a hit at one of them.
