A/N: I didn't proof read that well so please excuse the horrible grammar please and thank you. Enjoy!

"I have news." She smiled nervously.

You let out an exhale of breath as you jogged down the sidewalk, music blasting from your headphones.

"I got the part!" She had looked so happy and so proud of herself. "It's a lead role." Her eyes glistened with tears.

Your light jogging turned into a slight sprint.

"I think we should talk about what this means... for us."

You started sprinting faster, your lungs burning.

"It's better for the both of us if we just go our separate ways."

At this point there was sweat dripping down your face, your legs were burning, and your lungs were on fire but you pushed yourself harder.

"It was a long time coming anyway," she whispered solemnly. "We were never meant to be."

You came to an abrupt halt and bent over, resting your hands on your knees, as you tried to catch your breath.

Remembering what had happened just a few weeks ago always has you pushing yourself to your limits. The wound is still fresh and you don't know when you'll get over it.

You grab a nearby rock and chuck out into the lake before making your way back to your apartment.

~*~*~*~*~

Walking into your apartment still feels... weird.

Maybe it's because you haven't really spent much time here since The Incident, as you like to call it. Or maybe it's because it feels weird being here because it doesn't actually feel like yours anymore. You spent so much time at Alycia's you were practically living there.

Alycia.

You sighed as you opened the refrigerator and grabbed a cold water bottle, gulping it down.

The whole situation just makes you angry all over again. Out of all people you never actually thought it'd be her that would hurt you. The way she made you feel was the main reason you tried to put your all into that relationship. Months of happiness and laughs and kisses broken up by the two of you smiling so much just- poof- gone like that. Nothing but memories.

Very vivid memories that still sting every time they replay inside your head even when you try your hardest not to think about them.

Alycia had came home one day happier than you had ever seen her. She was practically radiating sunshine and rainbows. The smile on her face was so wide it almost split her face in half. She hadn't been the only one to receive good news that night either. That's why when she had told you that she had gotten the part you were so happy for her and she was twice as happy for you. You both jumped around her apartment screaming and laughing and celebrating. Things were falling into place for the both of you.

Everything was perfect.

That's why when late at night while you two lied in bed holding each other, her fingers tracing patterns on your skin, those words struck you by surprise.

"We should talk about what this means for us."

You had been confused because she sounded so sad and you couldn't think of any reason why she was sad. It meant great things for the both of you. You had gotten a paid internship doing what you love best and she had booked a lead role. You couldn't see why things had to change for the worse.

You've reached the end of published parts.
