"You ever smoked pot?"
Kells asked lighting the jay
"No"
I laughed
"Its aight. I do it all the time"
He said putting the lighter away
I laughed
"What about your friends. Who are your closest ones?"
He asked
"Well, Raven.. Gus"
I said
"Yeah. Raven runs after you like 24/7"
He said
"Yeah. Thats what bestfriends do"
I said
"What about Gus. What does he do?"
He asked
"He just. Exists I guess"
I smiled
"You know he's in love with you right?"
He asked
"No. You've got it all wrong Gus is my friend"
I said
"To him you're alot more"
He said
I looked at him.
"What do you mean?"
I asked
"Nothing."
He said
"You want some?"
He asked pointing his jay for me
"No. Im good"
I said
"I wonder why i've never looked at you this way before"
He said looking at me from head to toe making me feel uncomfortable but flattered at the same time.
I was quiet looking away.
He swiped my hair away from my face behind my ear catching my eye contact.
"You're beautiful"
He said
"Are you high?"
I smiled
"A little bit yes"
He laughed.
I smiled.
"But you're.. Really pretty"
He said
He came a little bit closer to me looking my lips focusing on me.
Suddenly my phone started ringing like crazy which scared the shit out of the both of us.
"Hello?"
I answered
"Okay. I'll be there. Bye"
I said closing the call and getting up.
"Who was it?"
Kells asked.
"Gus. He asked to meet me at this one place. He said its important"
I said taking my bag.
"Cant he wait?"
Kells asked.
"Im sorry. But Gus is my friend"
I said going to the door.
"But call me later"
I said closing the door after me.
I got in my car and drove to the café near my house. Gus was already there since I saw his bike by the edge of the café leaning against the wall. I went inside and saw Gus sitting by a table drinking
"Whatcha got there?"
I asked sitting across from him.
"Soy latte"
He said
"Cool. So, whats the news?"
I asked
"I need help with an exam"
He said
"Oh kay what exam?"
I asked
"History"
He said
"History? Raven is like an A student at that. Why didnt you ask her?"
I asked
"You were the first one in the contacts"
He said
"As always."
I said
"Lets go to my place"
He said getting up and I followed.
30 minutes later...
"See? You know this stuff already"
I said
"No I dont. Its harder than seems"
He said
"I think you're doing just fine."
I said
"I kinda left something important for this. I really hope you get this"
I said
"What was it?"
He asked
"Kells"
I said
"Im sorry.."
He said but I could tell he did not mean it.
"Its okay-"
I said
"For being dumb"
He said
"You're not dumb. You're.. Unique"
I laughed
"But im sorry Gus I really gotta go now I think"
I said getting up and so did he
"Um. Dani"
He said
"What?"
I asked turning around.
He looked at me for a second almost looking like he was about to lean in but was too scared to.
"I was supposed to ask you to the movies, on saturday"
He said swallowing a lump in his throat.
"Oh. Um. We have to see"
I said walking to the door.
"Okay"
He said
"Bye"
I said looking at him then leaving and closing the door behind me.
Damn that was odd.
