Chapter 2

I couldn't believe me Macy Stevens just totally creamed her brother in freaking dodge ball!!!! I yell squealing to Nicole as I high five her! I head outside and wait for James to pick me up, he arrives in 5 minutes and I go into elaborate Macy mode and tell him what totally happened so excitedly! "Looks like your friend Nicole is rubbing off on you, this calls for ICE CREAM!" James yells and speeds down the road. I of course get chocolate and he gets strawberry but only because his favourite colour is red, he doesn't care if it's good or not. We head home and I'm greeted with a big hug from my big boy King my German Shepherd. the boys aren't that attached to him but I sure am, he's like James in dog form. He's a retired police dog so he's fully trained and everything and doesn't let anybody he doesn't know near me unless I give him the ok. He's my big boy and he's everything to me. I give a big o'l kiss and then drop my bags and walk to get my headphones. "by mom, I'm going to give King a walk, he's really anxious today" I tell as I walk out the door. I put my headphones in and start to walk to the beach. I don't need him on a leash because police know him and nobody gets on to me and plus he's trained of course! when we get to the beach I put my phone in my back pocket and crank my music all the way up, and just run. I think I ran for maybe 5 miles, I have an amazing stamina says my PE coaches and I believe them. I guess that's why I'm so good at sports! I look around for King and realise he's in the water cooling off. "I love you big boy" I yell out to him probably getting a couple strange looks from people, I run out after setting my phone and shoes aside and leap right in. I bet we splashed and messed around in the ocean for about 15 minutes until I heard a voice at the shore somewhere. "Hey Macy come here!" I heard from the shore and look to see a stranger I've never seen. I get Kings attention and tell him "on gaurd" and his ears shot straight up. I walk slowly to the beach with kings fur in my hands holding him a little. I realise he has all my stuff in his hands and stare at him cautiously before speaking. "how do you know my name, and why do you have all my stuff". I swear he might have looked stoned. "hehehe what do you mean I'm your worst nightmare how don't I know your name, your brother James has called you seven times and 3 for Alex, I also read your text and James is looking for you" he replies and chuckles at the end. The only way he can know what my text says is if he unlocks my phone and I have a secret password not even James knows. shit. his breath smells like he smokes something and I'm not talking about a cigarette. He gestures for me to get my stuff from his hands. "put it on the ground please" I reply with shakiness in my voice. He does as told and I point my finger to the stuff and King moves in to smell stuff. let's hope he doesn't bark. fingers crossed. he doesn't bark and I pick the stuff up but am frightened as King starts barking and I know it's not a bird. He smells something, reason for his barking but it's not my stuff it's the man who has a terrified look in his eyes. "look you little shit Macy keep your dog under fucking control" he venomously yells at me. Next thing I know he pulls out a Glock which scares me half to death and people are running away. King won't stop barking and as a distraction I use the moves the police officer taught me. I hurriedly and grab the gun and discard the the ammo thingy or whatever it's called and throw it into the road and tell King "Go" and King immediately attacks the creepy man but not enough to hurt him severely. "Move" I yell to king and straight then King releases him and were both running for our lives onto the sidewalk across the street running through people and taking side roads. I immediately call 911 on my phone through tears. "911 what's your emergency" the lady on the other end says. "hi yes I'm at 34th and briar street, running but just had a man pull a gun on me, I have retired King the police force dog with me and gave him the go sign, I let him attack him for maybe 10 seconds just enough time for us to run away" I say as I dodge through people yelling right or left to King as we turn so he can keep up with me. "thank you, Your lucky you had King with you, he's known around the police station I have police officers on their way, I'm guessing your headed to your house so I have sent some there also, try to take backroad and and shortcuts but don't look back" and with that she hung up. next person I called as I slowed down to a mild jog was James. "James two police officers are on their way to the house, don't open the door until you hear officer Peet, I'm guessing at the front door. I will come in the back and make sure you have kings food and water bowl ready he's starving probably" I say into the phone. "what happened are you okay? why don't you come around front? is King okay?" he's says with worry clear in his voice. "don't open the door for anyone, make sure mom and dad are safe and don't let Alex leave the house" and then I hang up. About 10 minutes later I open the back fence and let King in first and then open the back door to see everybody pacing back and forth with worry in their eyes as they see me and the look relieved and they all rush and give me a huge group hug.
