_____________You have always loved music, you would train with earbuds in, you feel uncomfortable without music playing in your house, and even growing up, homework was impossible without music.
So naturally, you and peter got along quite well. You loved his mixtapes of 70s, and early 80s music, so you never really minded never getting the aux cord. By now, the guardians knew every song on the tapes and could sing along when they played.
Sure you were away from earth for the most part, but you knew how to keep up with all the latest hits.
It was late, the team was tired after a successful mission. You plugged your phone in to charge and plugged a cord connecting to your small speaker into your phone as well.
You open your music and go to your playlist of the most iconic songs of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, pressing the shuffle button, and then setting your phone down on the shelf.
You smile to yourself as you recognize the beginning of the song Unwritten - by Natasha Bedingfield.
You stand over the small mirror you have in your room and start brushing your hair, checking to be sure that the door to your quarters was closed and secured to not bother any other of the guardians.
It hardly took long for you to begin swaying your hips and moving to the beat, mouthing the opening words as you smoothed all the tangles from you (h/l) (h/c) hair.
You backed into the middle of the room and your socks rubbed against the carpet you had on the floor, some of the little decoration you had in your room.
You bring your hairbrush to your mouth as you began to intensely lip-sync the lyrics to the song.
Staring at the blank page before you,
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you cannot find! You closed your eyes and felt the lyrics, knowing each word by heart since you were little. You spin around to the door, and you open your eyes. You heart nearly stopped as you saw Peter standing there, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed, smirking at you.
You remembered where you were and lowered the hairbrush from in front of your mouth and scurried over to your dresser to put it away, your cheeks a burning red as you averted your eyes from any direction Peter would be in.
"I-I, uh, what do you need Quill?" You mentally cursed yourself at your shaky voice and pretended to organize the top of your dresser.
"Oh nothing, I was just admiring a world-renowned assassin lip-syncing to some tunes. Say, what were you playing? I've never heard this song."
Your embarrassment suddenly gone and replaced with shock you turned to him, now in front of your phone, reading the name of the song.
"What?! You've NEVER heard this song before?" he jumped a little at the seriousness of your tone as he placed your phone back on the shelf.
