Five Years Later

Lilith Harmony McLean skipped down the flowery meadow. Her glacier blue eyes glistening with happiness and a bright smile on her face. Her father's dark midnight hair flowed down in curls all the way to her waist.

Royal guards stood around the meadow at attention watching for any signs of danger but the little female lycan was clueless to what was going on around her. In her tiny arms, she held a bundle of flowers she had picked to give to her father, mother, and grandfather.

"Mommy!" She shouted at Isabella.

Isabella turned around from her seat on the picnic blanket to look at her daughter who was flying through the meadow with amazing speed.

"She's going to trip and fall," Isabella said to her marked mate and Lilith's father.

"She will be fine," Malcolm replied, picking up a piece of cracker and cheese to eat.

"She can barely see her feet. The flowers are block- "

Her daughter disappeared into the meadow with a 'thunk' and followed by an 'ow'. She lifted a tiny little arm into the air and waved.

"I am fine!" She shouted.

Malcolm chuckled at his daughter's enthusiasm. She shot up from the ground, dirt all over her peach color dress. She bent down and picked up what's left of her flowers before carefully walking towards them.

Isabella sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. It had been five years since they left Malcolm's territory and came here to live with her father. It was still a little hard to take in that she was a princess and next to the Lycan throne. Her father has been nothing but nice to her, Malcolm, and to Lilith.

As a matter of a fact, the King spoils his little grandchild immensely. Lilith's has her own little stable filled with all kinds of horses and donkeys. A room filled with every toy she can imagine.

When the King found out about Lilith's death, he was deeply heartbroken. Isabella knew that a little part of him wanted to the time to ask her mother for forgiveness. He rarely talks about Isabella's mother but when he does it was only good things and his eyes will shine brightly.

Isabella glanced at Malcolm who was eating a cracker and looking at their daughter. He looked extremely relaxed and happy. She picked a small green grape and scooted closer to him, lifting the grape to his lips. He took it without hesitance.

"Do you regret at all coming with me?" She asked.

His gaze moved from his daughter to his marked mate, "No, I don't. You are always my choice. You are my home. Where ever you are, that is the place I will go."

He pulled Isabella into his arms and leaned down to sniff the side of her neck before placing a soft kiss behind her ear.

"I told you I will never let you go."

She felt her heart swell with love and devotion. Her own arms wrapped around his securely as they looked at their daughter.

"I love you." Isabella turned to kiss his cheek.

He grinned and kissed her forehead, "And I love you."

"Have you heard from Damon and Alexine recently?" Isabella asked.

"The last thing I heard from him was that Alexine has learned to overcome her fears. She is a lot stronger now. She's been hard at work with practicing her fighting skills. She's now a solider in his pack." Malcolm answered.

"I'm sure Damon is having a fit right now." Isabella grinned wickedly. She knew Damon well. Damon might fight his feelings for Alexine but living under one roof for five years does not make things easy. In fact, it is damn difficult, especially when Alexine is learning to become independent and blossoming again to the real beauty that she is.
