The sign reads 'Welcome, NeapolitanTrips Hostel & Bar, release your inhibitions' Erm, not sure how I feel about this statement.

The lady behind the reception desk looks, pleasant? She has a resting bitch face and I'm almost afraid to ask her to check in. 'Can I help you?' She says without even looking up at me. 'Yes, I'd like to check in please', 'fill out this form', 'OK thank you'. I say as politely as I can.

Finally in my room for the night, maybe nights I'm not quite sure yet. There are stains on the walls, the bed creaks as soon as you sit on it and I'm pretty sure the duvet hasn't been changed in weeks. Well, on the bright side, at least I have this room all to myself. Time to turn in me thinks, I've had enough exhilaration for one day.

I turn on my side, in what I thought was in a graceful manner. Wrong, so very wrong, I ended up on the floor. Not a great start to the day ahead.

Once I've showered In freezing cold water and put my dirty clothes back on I realise the first thing I need to do today is buy some clothes.
I ask the lady at the reception for some assistance in locating the nearest clothes store and she simply shrugs. As I'm contemplating my next move another young lady approaches me. She is petite with jet black hair and perky. 'Hey girl, my names Valerie, what's yours?' Valerie is an American and my guess is she's from Boston, I can hear it in her accent. 'Hey Valerie, my names Ava'. 'Ava, what a lovely name, you here alone?' Thinking this question is rather odd I answer, 'thank you, Valerie is also a lovely name. I am alone yes, what about you? Also, you don't happen to know where a girl can get some clothes around here do you?'

And with that, Valerie became my friend and it was the start of a beautiful friendship.
