Hi, my name is Ava. I'm 25, I work in a crappy job 9-5, you know the drill. Do I find any joy in that reality? No not really. So you know what I did? I went on a lengthy holiday (6 months to be exact) to discover my joy. Here's my story...

I find myself at the airport staring aimlessly at the departure board trying to figure out what flight to take. Now, I'm at the airport due to the fact I quit my 9-5 crappy job and got in a cab straight here.

Barcelona, Italy, France, Switzerland or Hong Kong. Hmmm, decisions, decisions. Now the best idea would be to start small and work my way up to the big countries with the flights that are way to long for anyone to have to suffer enduring. Do I do this however? No, no I do not.

'One way ticket to Hong Kong please' I ask the nice lady behind the counter. 'Certainly, you may take the 7:30pm flight'  'but that's 7 hours away???' 'Are you serious' I yell in dismay. 'Well yes, the earlier flights are all already booked I'm afraid'.

OK OK, this was not the expectation I had on the up and leave the country sitch. I think this over and return to the, did I say nice? I meant sarcastic and pretentious desk lady and shoot another destination. 'What about Italy' the lady looks at me with confusion as to why I am simply picking destinations at random, one after the other. 'I'm sorry, didn't you want to travel to China?' Wow, this lady is slow on the uptake. I am clearly having a midlife crisis at the ripe age of 25 and this entails hopping on the next available flight out of here. No luggage, no thought process, nada... 'Yes, well see I just want to get out of this country, without having to wait 7 hours to change my decision'. Because knowing me, I will change my mind and return to my sad reality. As the lady stares at me, no words coming out of her mouth, I ask her again 'Is there an available flight to Italy, like in the next half hour?' The lady who I have now noted on her name tag is named Sheila confirms there is a flight to Italy leaving in 45 minutes.
