It was a bright and sunny day. The exact type you would want for the beginning of a new school term. It left the aura of possibility and fresh starts lingering in the air. Albeit, not the best weather for hauling heavy furniture up into a new apartment- which was what Lauren was attempting to do with the help of her best friend and roommate, Normani.

"For fucks sake, I said PIVOT, Normani!" Lauren said exasperated at their lack of success with moving their couch through the front door of their new building.

Normani, feeling a little exasperated herself, took a calming breath before replying "I just don't think that it is going to fit, Laur. We've been trying this for fifteen minuets and I'm about ready to light this couch on fire and call it a day".

Lauren sighed and nodded her head in agreement. Normani sulked back to the moving van to grab some water while Lauren tried to think of how else they might be able to get the damn couch up to their apartment. Suddenly, she heard someone behind her clear their throat.

"Hi, umm are you having trouble with the couch there?" she heard a soft husky voice say.

"Yeah, it won't fit through the do-" Lauren halted mid sentence as she turned around and was met with perhaps the most beautiful girl she had ever seen in real life. The girl had long brown hair down to her waist, tanned glowing skin, the brightest smile Lauren had ever seen. Plump, oh so kissable lips, and- her eyes. Brown never looked so delicious...

"Well, I'm not sure where he is but the building manager unlocked the back door for us when we brought ours in." the picture of Lauren's perfection replied as she glanced over the couch.

"Oh, ok thanks! I will try to find him then. Did you just move in?" Lauren prodded, wanting to learn a bit more about the girl.

"Yeah, my roommate and I are in second year so this is our first year out of res. Pretty excited about it! No more shower caddies!" The girl replied doing a little happy dance at the prospect of having her own bathroom. Lauren smiled and felt something warm and bubbly start to erupt in her stomach at this. "What about you?" the girl scrunched her eyebrows together before continuing, "I mean, obviously you are moving in, but what year are you in?"

"Uhh, third year. I lived a few blocks down last year but this building has a pool so my roommate and I decided to move here this year" Lauren answered.

"Well, I'm glad we are going to be neighbours!" the girl quipped while fixing Lauren's eyes with an uncharacteristically bold stare. "I better get going though, I'm running a little late. Good luck with the couch!" she said as she started to walk towards the unoccupied door.

Lauren felt a sense of urgency and panic flood through her as the girl got further away "Wait!" She said, a little louder than she was expecting "What's your name?"

The girl looked back at her and smiled "Camila" she said. "What's yours?"

"Lauren. Lauren Juaregui" Lauren said softly as she internally rolled her eyes for her over formality with the last name.

"Well, Lauren Juaregui, it was nice to meet you." Camila winked "See you around!"

With that Camila walked out the door and into the sunlight. Leaving Lauren to stare at her retreating form.
