As we approach the Dauntless headquarters I tell Beatrice about my family and Tony.She looks out the window and tells me the train isn't stopping and that there's a gap between the train and the Dauntless headquarters.
"You don't think we have to jump the gap do you?"I ask.
"I hope not." Is all she says. "But I'm sure we have to."
"Yup.That's Dauntless."I say as the building comes closer.
"Jump together? "I ask.She nods.
"One, two, THREE!!!!" We jump onto the gravel that dusts the roof.I stumble and scrape my knee.
"Initiates."A male voice calls."I am Max your instructor.Come with me."we follow him to the other side of the building.
"To prove that you are worthy of becoming Dauntless you must prove that you are brave.Jump." We look down a hundred foot drop into a hole that contains god knows what.
"Jump."Max says again. "Or, if you want the next train is heading to the factionless part of the city for those who aren't brave enough."
Beatrice takes off the jacket she was wearing and throws it at max then she jumps.
"Beatrice!"I yell as I look over the railing to see her arms and legs flailing around. when she reaches the hole she hits something and then bounces up.A net.well at least it's safe.I get on top of the railing like Beatrice did and jump.
"AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!" I scream on the way down.I hit the net harder then I expected. At least I'm alive. I think.Even though I know I'm safe the shock of what I just did takes a while to settle down.I see Beatrice laughing at me because I screamed while i was falling.
"Shut up!"I yell."I saw you flailing around when you jumped."
"Yeah but at least I didn't scream AFTER I hit the net."She says.
"I didn't!"I say
"You did."She answers.Peter is the next to jump.He screams to, almost all of the initiates do.
