Luke opened the door to see Ashton and Calum both gazing at the concrete. They both looked up, eyes wide with shock.
"Luke! We thought we were gonna have to break in," Calum said cautiously."Yeah, whatever. Just take me wherever you're taking me so I can go see her," Luke replied callously.
Ashton and Calum shared a look of concern as Luke walked toward the car that they came in. Luke shoved his earbuds in and slid into the backseat. His friends were right, but that didn't mean he had to be happy about it. Calum started the car and Ashton turned to face Luke.
"We're taking you out to lunch. We're meeting Michael there too. We all thought it would be nice for you to eat something other than hospital food and takeout."
Luke nodded curtly and went back to listening to his music. He gazed out the window until they reached their destination. Luke had barely made it out of the car before he felt arms wrapped tightly around him.
"It's so good to see you out of the house, man," Michael said as he loosened his grip around Luke.
However, Luke didn't hear Michael. Lukes attention was stolen when he heard a woman squeal in happiness. She screamed and nodded her head in response to the man on one knee, holding a diamond ring.
"I have to go. I can't do this. I'm sorry," Luke mumbled as he ran towards the curb. He hailed a taxi and gave the driver the address to the hospital. He needed to see her.

Luke arrived at the hospital and paid the driver. He took a swig out of the flask that he had been carrying around with him recently. He needed to tether himself to reality. He rode the elevator up to the floor he needed, and walked to room 304, on autopilot. There. His eyes fixated on Her. He sat down on the floor in the corner of the room, not bothering to pull up a chair. He closed his eyes and saw Her.

Luke looked up and saw Her walking down the stairs.
"Did I wake you? I'm sorry. I thought the music was quiet enough," Luke apologized."It's ok. I wasn't sleeping well anyway. Why are you up?" She yawned through her words.
"Just couldn't sleep," He responded tiredly.
She took a seat next to him in the dark kitchen. The room illuminated by the light above the stove, just enough to make out Her features. She hummed along to the classical music that was playing. Classical, one of their shared guilty pleasures. Luke suddenly stood.
"Let's dance," He held his hand out to Her.
"What?" She laughed, "I don't know how to dance!"
"Neither do I! We'll figure it out together," He chuckled.
She grabbed his hand, and they began to sway back and forth. Him tripping, and Her stepping on his toes. They danced through the house, laughing.

Luke gasped and his eyes flew open, tears streaming down his face. He threw his head into his hands and sobbed. His own cries drowned out by the classical music playing through his earbuds. How desperately he wanted to dance with her again.
