The wind blew through my hair, and the cool air hit my face, making a feeling of calmness wash through me.
Today was my first day of school since moving here. To say I was nervous was an understatement. Seriously, who moves to a new place before senior year? Well, still I'm glad I got away from my old life.
I sped up when I saw the woods ending. Every morning, I go on a run, and I was lucky to find a nice forest to do so. I used to run in Central Park back in the city, but now being in upstate New York, it gives me a calmer feeling due to the abundance of greenery.
I was a bit distracted by the surroundings that I didn't notice someone walking. I crashed into a hard chest and fell on my butt.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to—" I rushed out but got interrupted by a deep, masculine voice.
"Watch where you're going!" He growled out.
I looked up to his eyes to see piercing green angrily staring at me.
"I said I was sorry." I gritted.
"I don't care." He spat. He grabbed my arm and roughly pulled me up, his green eyes connecting with my blue-green ones.
He let go of my arm and roughly bumped into my shoulder before walking away.
"Watch were you're going." I mocked.
He angrily turned around. I honestly felt a little scared, but there was no way in hell I was showing him that.
"I would be careful if I were you. I'm not in a good mood." He warned.
"I don't care." I mocked him again before running off continuing my workout.
What a jerk! A really hot jerk!
I parked my car in the parking lot. I took a deep breath and told myself I can do this.
I was feeling pretty good about my outfit today: simple dark skinny jeans, a white cami, blue cardigan, and brown leather booties. My hair, which I couldn't decide if it was light brown or dark blonde, was loosely curled, making it rest a little above my waist. I had on natural makeup. Generally, I felt like I was ready for the day.
I made my way to my locker to set everything up, and then, the bell rang. I headed to my first period and was really anxious to meet new people.
I sat down near the window, and some girls came up to me. I looked toward them. The girl with brown hair and brown eyes spoke up first.
"Hi! I'm Rachel, and this is Sera." She said and pointed to the blonde girl with blue eyes next to her. "We wanted to make you feel welcome since we haven't seen you here before."
I smiled up at them, mentally letting out a sigh of relief. "I'm Lila." I extended a hand and shook both of theirs.
"The physics teacher at this school is awesome by the way, so you have nothing to worry about. Last year was awesome. He always tells these awesome, funny stories that we all just love." She ranted. I was taking AP Physics II for first period, so I was glad someone told me their experience from the year before.
"I'm glad. My physics teacher at my old school was so up tight." I commented.
Just then, the teacher walked in. Rachel is right. The teacher is hilarious. He told us these awesome stories from his college year, and I already was glad I decided to take a second year of this subject, even though it had nothing to do with the career I wanted.
The bell rang, excusing all the students. I packed up my things and saw Rachel and Sera waiting for me.
"What lunch do you have?" Sera asked.
