"Well, look who I found."
I peeked over Luke's shoulder to see a man. He's about our age with almost black hair and dark brown eyes.
"What do you want?" Luke growled out.
"Who's this beautiful girl?" He asked. Luke stepped in front of me to get his eyes off of me.
"None of your business." Luke spat.
He chuckled. "I'm Mitch, darling. What's your name?"
"You don't need to know." Luke answered for me.
"You know, beautiful, you could come with me. I could show you what a real man can do." Mitch winked. I shivered in disgust.
Mitch stepped closer, but Luke's arm shot up and pushed him away. "Stay away from her." Luke warned.
Mitch just chuckled. "Or what?" He laughed.
"I don't know. You've seen what I can do." Luke ambiguously replied.
"We'll see." Mitch left after that. I had to know what was up. Who was this guy that seemed to take on Luke? Who in their right mind would do that?
"Luke, who was that?" I tentatively asked.
He turned around to meet my eyes. "Just an enemy. He goes to our rival school."
I nodded. Our high school, Northside Liberties, have a rival: the Southcreek Hurricanes. I don't know much about the rivalry, but I know it's strong.
I've never gone to a school this spirited before. At my old school, our focus was on academics, so our sports sucked and school spirit went out the window. I must say, I fucking loved football games and school spirit. It was thrilling.
I was about to turn back and walk out of the woods when Luke's arm stopped me.
"You didn't tell me why you're upset."
I sighed. "We're late for school. We should go."
After that, I quickly ran off before he could catch me.
I mentally let out a sigh of relief.
I got out of it...this time.
