It's been a couple days since the party, and I'm feeling better. I got to have a little bit of fun, so my mood hasn't been bad lately.
As I got closer to the lunch table, I overheard the word boxing. Once I sat down, everyone stopped talking. Rachel and Sera weren't here yet.
"Hey, you guys don't have to stop. I know things about boxing too."
They all started at me with shock and then looked over to Luke. He shook his head.
"Hey, talk to me! I watch boxing. My favorite is Lomachenko. I watched the fight between him and Linares a week ago, and I was impressed. I've always been a fan, but I didn't think he would win this one. It's just not his weight class if you know what I mean, but I guess he's still superior because of the way he moved around the ring. One second he's there, and the next, he's not." I ranted.
They all started at my shocked, disbelieving.
"Sorry." I said and looked down with to my food. That was so embarrassing.
"You watch boxing?!" Nate suddenly yelled.
"Yeah." I mumbled, still looking down because I was embarrassed.
"We have to watch it together something! Do watch heavyweight too?!" Nate excitedly exclaimed.
"Yeah, I do." I replied.
"Who's your favorite? I always loved watching Ali fight!"
"I never really liked him. I liked Joe Frazier more than Ali. I mean, his left hook was amazing. Did you know he's right handed, but he fights southpaw because his left hook got really fast and powerful after he had part of it amputated after a car accident? But my favorite I guess is Rocky Marciano. His stamina is amazing." I ranted again.
Nate smiled a big toothy grin, and he reached over from the other side of the table, putting my face in his hands.
"I could kiss you!" He joked and started leaning in. My eyes widened.
Suddenly, Luke's hand pushed Nate away, and Nate ended up hitting his head on the table since he fell down.
Everyone burst out laughing.
"What's going on?" Rachel asked as she and Sera finally appeared.
"Nothing." Luke answered quickly.
"Where were you two?" Daniel asks them, but mostly looking at Sera. She sat down my him, smiling.
"Oh, just asking our math teacher for help with Rachel." She replied.
I noticed they were a little closer than normal. I looked over to Luke to see him eyeing them suspiciously. He was very perceptive like I was, so it didn't surprise me he noticed as well.
We have some romance in our group.
