Afterwards, Tyler, Kyle, and Dar left to go out and look for the ravine again to finish their mining trip. Heather and Prezi volunteered to help Shelby to walk around some.
They started with to the door and back, if Shelby could do that three times she could go out the door. They allowed her to be able to lean on furniture to help her this time.
"Okay you're doing good, don't trip there, I guess Tyler never fixed the floor when I told him." Heather said as she gestured to the corner of a wooden floor block sticking up the slightest bit. Tyler's room was the only room Shelby's seen of the Turkey's house, and it wasn't a good first impression. The 5x5 room had the door in the far corner and the bed in the opposite, there where 2x3 windows on two walls because his room was in the corner of the house. There was a small chest beside his bed. He had two bookshelves across from the bed and most of the books showed signs of being age; but without the dust. His floor seemed unstable, which wasn't good for Shelby.
She nodded and leaned on the wall at the foot of the bed and took a step around the bookshelf. Shelby had made almost made it to the door on her third try. She had to make it, Shelby thought. The curiosity of what was behind that door burned inside of her.
Shelby took two more steps and felt the spider bite hurt. She clenched her teeth and squeezed her eyes shut. She blocked out Heather and Prezi's words for a moment to think. She realised the pain had gotten better, and it passed quickly. Prezi must have realised that she was hurting less.
"You're going to fine, Shelby, it's already getting better. All you need to do is forget about it."
"Just don't remember the- what was I going to say?" Heather joked with a laugh from Shelby and Prezi.
But when Shelby laughed, and her spider bite left her mind, she didn't feel the pain. That was all she needed to understand. Taking Prezi's advice, Shelby opened her eyes and straightened her back. She took a deep breath and walked as casually as she could to the door, opened it and left Heather and Prezi in Tyler's room smiling.
"Nice Shelby! That was great!" Prezi said punched the air.
"That was more and great! But now, it's time for level two." Before Shelby lay a long, oak wood hallway that was two blocks wide with four other doors along both walls. She looked behind her to see stairs going down. "Now if you're able to get to the other end of the hallway and back, we can go downstairs." Heather instructed.
"This time you can't use anything to lean on." Prezi added.
"Okay," Shelby said and smiled. She looked up and ran to the other end of the hallway and touched the wall. When she came back she saw Prezi and Heather's awed faces and laughed. "Don't underestimate me!" Shelby said as she touched the tip of Heather's nose to signal one time. She ran back and forth down the hallway twice more and came back to them smiling. "Come on! We gotta go downstairs!" Shelby said through laughs. She went passed them and gestured them to follow.
Prezi and Heather glanced at each other and smiled. "Yeah Shelby!" Heather said and jumped raced passed Shelby to lead her downstairs. Prezi laughed and followed.
When Shelby reached the bottom of the stairs she saw the what looked like the bottom floor from the windows that were raised one block, and evenly spaced on the fourteen by eighteen perimeter. On the opposite wall for the sat crafting tables under one of the two by two windows. Under the rest of them where large chests. Beneath the stairs sat six furnaces in a horizontal rectangle of two high and three wide. In the middle of the room sat a large cobblestone table and five wooden stairs with signs on the sides acting as chairs.
But of course Heather had to turn her attention back to the stairs.
"Alrighty Miss Overachiever," Heather teased. "if you can go up and down these stair three times without using anything to lean of we can be done, I still need to check on the wheat farm."
"Don't you mean we? Im not mining today so both of us need to." Prezi added looking over at Heather.
"Oh yeah, sorry not used to that."
Shelby giggled. "Im guessing you usually go mining, Prezi and Heather, you stay here?" Prezi nodded at her name.
"Yeah, most of the time, if you're not mining, you have to farm and before the Bad Days m-my family and I l-lived on a-a farm." Heather said(Lol that's so not true:), her tone getting sad as she finished.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I never meant to remind you of then." Shelby said. Her and Prezi had the smile wiped off of their faces. Prezi turned Heather to face her.
"Hey, look at me." Heather glanced up to her. "It's okay, but now you gotta forget again, okay? We have to get back on track." Heather nodded and they turned to Shelby again.
"Okay, let's finish the stairs so Prezi and I can get the farm done. Don't fail us now Shelby!" Heather smiled again as if nothing happened.
Shelby saw the grin had returned to Prezi's face too. She turned to face the stairs and ran up and down them and she started to smile again when she realised she was getting better faster than she expected.
When she finished. the girls were clapping for her as if she just won a race.
"Yes! Nice job, Shelby!" Prezi said through her smile.
"Yeah, really! We weren't sure if you were gonna get out of that room!" Heather told her.
"Thanks! I just had forget it, like you guys said. That was really all I had to do!" Shelby said, sending her arms as wide as she could hugging Heather and Prezi. They both laughed and hugged back.
Shelby let go and didn't stop smiling. By now it was the middle of the evening and the sun was setting fast. "We better get started on that farm, shouldn't we?"
Prezi laughed. "By we, you mean Heather and I, right?"
"Nope, I mean the three of us. Lets get the seeds and whatever tools we need, I never farmed at my old house. Im going to need some help with that too." Shelby told them.
Heather shrugged and said. "I don't see why not, I'll get the seeds and three hoes. Can you show her where the farm is?"
"No problem. Shelby, follow me out here." Prezi said and began walking past the table to the front door. As they walked through, Shelby saw they were still in a forest and wondered if her home was somewhere out there. To the right of the house was a large fenced in farm with a gate at the nearest corner and a wooden path that lead straight to it. They went through the gate and she got a better view of the farm.
The wooden fences wrapped around the perimeter of the three rows of about fifteen. The first was wheat, and most was fully grown. The second row had melon thriving in the plots; also with many at their ripest. The last one contained two crops: sugarcane and pumpkins. These needed to be picked as well. Between each row where paths of cobblestone for walking.
"Alright, today is one of the busiest days we have of course when there isn't much time until he others get back. We need to water the crops that aren't quite yet ripe and pick the ones that are. Are you up for that?" Prezi told her while crossing her arms. Shelby smiled and looked up to her.
"If you are, so am-"
Their attention turned to the house as they heard a scream from inside the house.
