The door flung open and Heather ran out screaming at them to run; behind her, flames came through the door and started burning the path.

Shelby and Prezi didn't have time to react. Heather ran to them, grabbed their sleeves and tugged on them to get the both of them to move into the woods. As soon as they realised the danger, they bolted in to the direction Heather was going to.

The three of them ran far, far into the woods, for a long, long time full of many twists and turns, eventually getting themselves lost. When they stopped, they couldn't see nor hear the fire anymore. Shelby, Heather, and Prezi leaned up against a nearby oak tree to catch their breath.

"Wha- what happened?" Shelby gasped between breaths. Heather shook her head.

"I-I dropped some flint and steel while searching for the hoes, and of course with my luck, it fell on the chest with the coal. I-I tried to put it out, but it toppled over and burning coal went everywhere. I'm s-so sorry. We have to find the others, I need to find K-Kyle. T-They don't know." She said her eyes beginning to water. Prezi looked up to Heather.

"I-It was an accident, you didn't mean to. And we are going to find them. We have nothing and they should be on their way home from a mining trip, just what are we-" They were interrupted by a familiar groan. Their breath hitched as they glanced towards the sky to see a gibbous moon staring down to them from above. The three quickly looked back at each other and knew they had a problem without anything to ward off the creatures of the night.

The zombie's groans grew louder and they heard slow footsteps from the same direction. They had to find somewhere that was safe from the mobs. Shelby looked around her for something to help, but Prezi found it first.

She pointed to a short tree that would be just too high to climb on if it wasn't for the fact the ground was raised at one to the corners. Heather and Shelby nodded showing they understood. Prezi ran as quickly and quietly as she could to the tree and motioned for them to come quick. On their way they found out why; the skeleton nearby was just far enough away that they weren't sensed by it.

Heather and Shelby climbed up the corner of the tree and the second they were up, Prezi destroyed the only way up to them. The group looked around now that they had a better view of their surroundings. Footsteps turned their attention back to the skeleton that had now found them. It shot an arrow in their direction but missed; it just zoomed past Shelby's left shoulder.

To not attract any other hostiles they jumped from tree to tree as silently as they could until the skeleton was far enough away that they were safe...from that one.

They quietly sat lowered themselves into a position that would make them difficult to see from the ground. Shelby, Heather, and Prezi turned on their backs and looked back up to the stars. Suddenly a big sigh of relief came from each now that they were temporarily safe. Multiple monster sounds came from below but were ignored as they took in the amazing sight from above.

"Alright, we better head back up to the surface, nightfall should be coming soon." Dar told Tyler and Kyle as he mined the last bit of iron he could see from the ravine. Kyle sighed and walked over to Dar and Tyler from the lava pool of lava he was just at.

"Finally, my inventory is almost full of the rotten flesh, string, gunpowder, and-"

"Kyle, you were just at some lava. Go throw what you don't need into it!" Tyler instructed him.

"Oh yeah. Thanks, Tyler!"

Dar sighed and started walking towards the other half of the ravine that was open to the surface. Evening had almost come to a dark close giving them just enough time to build a way out and back home. He motioned for Tyler and Kyle to come with him so they can leave. Kyle had the look of disappointment on his face but followed.

Everyone knew the drill. Each of them took out about a stack of cobblestone and held it in their hand. Tyler was the first to start; he jump up in the air and quickly placed a cobblestone block underneath him. Dar and Kyle proceeded to follow suit until they were level with the surface. each of them built their own bridges across to the grassy terrain. They were still in the forest. Once they were each up and together, they started on their silent journey home.

Kyle lead them through the trees; he usually had good memory of their way home. Since he was in the lead, he was the first to hear the odd crackling noise that came from the direction they were heading.

"Hey guys, do you hear that too?" Kyle said from ahead of them.

"Hear what? The only thing I-what's that sound?" Dar asked and turned to Tyler to see his confused expression.

"I hear it too, but guys look up there." He pointed above the trees where in the distance you could see sparks shoot up and eventually sputtering out in the darkening sky.

"Whoa where did those come from." Dar asked with his gaze still at the mysterious sparks.

"I don't know but now I smell something. Tyler did you fart?"

"What? No, not me!"

Kyle took a big whiff to examine the stench. "Actually, it wasn't you, it smells like..." He stopped when he realised what it was. "Smoke."

Everyone's eyes widened as the pieces fit together in their head. All at once they looked at each other and ran in the direction of their home.

As they got closer, light was seen from through the dense trees ahead of them. The smoke became clearer to see, the crackling became louder and the spark from above turned into wisps of flames.

"Please no, please no, please no," Kyle chanted under his breath.

Finally, they arrived at the crumbling oak wood structure that had once been their home. Flames engulfed it creating a dark ora around the building with the ceiling now caved in. The farm and the crops in it as well as the path there had flames hugging it tightly. The trees surrounding it had became massive replicas of the average torch lighting the start of a great forest fire.

Each of their eyes began watering; unsure wether it was from the dense smoke around them or the sight of their home up in flames.

Kyle stepped forward, farther into the danger and feel to his knees. "HEATHER! " He yelled at the top of his lungs. Tyler and Dar's breathing hitched as their minds went to the concern of their friends safety. Silence feel over them accept for Kyle's heavy breathing, the crackling of the fire, and the sound of the oak wood walls of their home collapsing.

"Guys, w-we have t-to go. T-this place will be a hotspot for m-monsters if we stay." Dar found himself saying against his will after a while o staring at the destructing fire before him.

"Oh you mean the place that is our home? What other place do we have to go to, Dar, do you have any idea where safety could be? Or how about our friends? Our... our f-friends. Guys, w-we have to find them." Kyle said standing up.

"None of us have any idea what is happening, Kyle, but we have to leave. Night is falling, and Dar was right when he said the mobs will come. W-we have to go." Tyler struggled saying his last sentence.

Kyle looked up to his friends to see their gaze set behind him to the great fire burning through what was thought of as safe... what was thought of as home.
