I smiled at my reflection in the mirror, the new light brown coat was comfortable and would keep me warm. The previous day, Tuesday, I went to Riley's in the evening, who demanded to know all about my new boss. I let slip about him demanding that I get a new coat and an overly priced phone. As much as she pleaded, I turned down her offer to get me a new phone, but the coat situation was a different story.

She explained to me how her father had brought her a new coat, but when she tried it on that same day, it didn't fit. Claiming that she didn't want to upset her father by returning it, she offered to it me, saying it was better than the coat collecting dust. I accepted, seeing as otherwise the coat would never be used, and I knew that her father could take things quite personally.

Doing up the buttons on the coat, I sighed when I knew the inevitable was coming. I was going to enter the office, and be asked where my new phone was. I would tell Damon that I hadn't bought one and then he would dock my wages, leaving me doomed for eternity.

When I saw the time was nearly eight, I quickly grabbed my bag and hurried out of the door, slamming it shut behind me and locking it. It would take me about twenty minutes to walk to the office, but I also had to get our coffees and be in the office by 8.30am.

"$7.21," The barista held out her hand for money, as another girl was making the drinks.

I looked in my purse to see that I only had $5 with me and frowned, "Actually, make that one coffee..."

With a frown, she changed the details on the cash machine, and asked me for the new price, which left me with about $1.50 in my purse. I hurried to the elevator, jumping in just in time before the doors shut.

"Alexia!" I voice next to me beamed.

Turning my head, I saw Hayden standing next to me, his arms full to the bring with folders, "Oh hi, Hayden. How are you?"

He smiled at me, "I'm great thanks, really busy but great. And how about you?"

"Tired, stressed and really busy too..." I confirmed, "But I can deal with it..."

He offered me a charming smile, "I'll bet. Anyway, my appointment is at 9.00am with Mr Kingston today, so I'll see you in a bit..."

I nodded, with a small smile, "Yeah, see you."

Hayden got out of the elevator on his floor, leaving me inside with just one oldish lady who worked on the floor below mine. Rebalancing the coffee in my hand, I leant up against the elevator box wall, humming to the stupid music. When the elevator finally got to my floor, I hurried out and rushed into my office, knowing that it was nearly 8.30am. Chucking my coat on the back of my chair, and I took his coffee and knocked on Damon's door. I hurried in and place the coffee in front of him on his desk.

"Pushing it as ever, sweetheart," Damon smirked, picking up his coffee and drinking it.

"I'm still on time..." I muttered, handing him some files that I had sorted for him.

He took them, but put them straight on the desk, "Where's your coat?"

"It's on the back of my chair, in my office, " I comfirmed, which he replied to with a nod.

"And your phone?" He asked, leaning back in his chair.

"Um...yeah, about that..." I began, but stopped when he put up a hand.

"Youse haven't got one." It was a statement, "I did tell what would happen if you didn't get one, didn't I?"

"Well, yes you did but..."

He leant forward, "Now, come on Ms Carter, I would love to hear your excuse."

I sighed, rubbing my eyes, "Do you know how expensive an IPhone is?"
