The next few minutes were a whirlwind. There was a sudden rush of people towards Harry and Damon as they stepped down from the platform, everyone saying how sorry they were to see Harry go but excited to see what Damon would do. The crowds soon dispersed as everyone begun to make their way around the tables, to try and find their name card.

Still slightly startled, I jumped when I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder. Clutching my chest to calm I nerves, I turned around to see Eric with a slightly amused look on his face. Olivia had disappeared off somewhere.

"Guess you didn't see that coming, hm?" He questioned, "How do you feel about having grumpy as your new boss?"

Slightly amused by the name but not yet feel calm enough to show it just yet, I smiled nervously and not really knowing what else to say, I simply replied with, "Well, Harry certainly kept that quiet."

Eric looked slightly concerned but removed his hand from my shoulder, "He did from everyone, not even the managers knew about it. Hey, are you doing okay? You are being very quiet."

"Sorry," I looked down at my hands, before looking up with a more confident smile, "I'm just a little surprised. I do not even really know Damon; we have only spoken in passing a couple of times. All of a sudden, I am going to be working so closely with him. It's just a little overwhelming, that's all."

"Damon is harmless," Eric said with a wave, an easy smile on his face. "Yes, he is grumpy and incredibly serious when it comes to work, but he's a good man. He would not be my best friend otherwise. Just continue to do what you were doing with Harry, and I'm sure you will be fine."

With that, Eric swung an arm over my shoulder and led us towards a table at the front of the room, just behind the dance floor. I could see the whole of the Kingston family, besides Isaac obviously, and a couple of the more senior members of the board standing chatting next to the table. This was what I guess you could call the 'head table', where the main family and their closest companions sat. Although Eric and I were not considered all that senior in the company, despite that we both had a lot of responsibility, we were some of the closest associated to the family and often sat with them. As Damon's best friend since they were toddlers, Eric was almost considered Harry's fifth child.

"Eric, Alexia, we were wondering where you two had disappeared off to!" Harry burst forward, shocking me when he embraced me tightly, "So what do you think, sweetheart? Sorry that I didn't tell you before, I wanted it to be a surprise for everyone."

Feeling my eyes water slightly, I held him a little tighter, "I'm going to miss you."

"Oh, sweetheart," he muttered in my ear, before pulling away slightly to get a better look at me, "please don't get upset. I'm not disappearing, and you will still see me around, you can't get rid of me that easily."

Pulling away completely, I tried to smile at him, "I know, it is just going to be strange not seeing you every day."

He let out a small chuckle, and I felt a presence approach us from the side, "It will be strange not seeing you too but I think it will be good for you to work with someone different, someone younger. I've spoken with Damon, and I've told him to take good care of you."

"I intend to do so," a smooth voice came from the side, making me jump slightly. "However, I don't believe we have ever said me than a few words to each other. So, father, would you introduce us properly?"

"Of course, Damon, this is Alexia Carter, your new personal assistant. Alexia, sweetheart, as you know, this is Damon, my son," Harry said with a cheeky smile. "If you are even half as good to him as you have been to me, then you two will get along just fine."
