11. Learning to trust

Lui's pov.

I watched as Evan said that our kind killed his mother. I didn't know nor did anyone else.

I watched when Evan fell unconscious as delirious still held his neck. I watched as vanoss formed into her bigger self and ripped delirious off of Evan and threw him to us.

I-I watched as she carried Evan in her mouth up stairs, most likely to his room.

But that's all I did was watch as we lost what could have been ours.

Cry-"I-I'm so sorry for that. I just reacted without thinking because of what he said. I didn't know he meant that much to ya." He was shaking mainly because of the fact we all were shaking in anger and sadness. Not because of him but at ourselves.

Luke-"It's okay cry... just any humans that try and attack you. Capture them. And we'll think about what to do to them later on ok?" They shook their heads at Luke and ran off to their part of the town.

Bryce-"We all had a ruff day today let's go to bed and try and talk to Evan in the morning." We all agreed and went to bed. Feeling bad is the worse feeling, especially when you know it's your fault.

Evan's dream pov.

I woke up feeling nothing but water all around me.

-Let thy liquid devour thee to the promise land.

'What?' I stood up from the water, the same water I lost mom in. Why am I here?

-Only then will thy missed one become better, stronger!

I didn't know where that voice was coming from. I kept looking around but there's nothing but fog and water.

-Let me see my child!! He's mine!!!

Mom? Was that even her voice? What's happening I'm scared?!

-You have forsaken our kind and will be punished for thy sin!

-No your not touching him!!!

I hear running feet, multiple feet.

-I've got you baby I won't let them take you both. Not over my dead body.

Dad? What the hell is happening!?!

I see that the fog is starting to go away as well as the voices.

I look around to see the person I've been wanting to see, love, and die with.

"Mom!!" I yell her name as I get closer to her body. But I quickly realize that she has a large bite mark on her stomach.

"Mom it's going to be ok!!! I'll get something to cover it up!!" I was about to rush and get something but she grabs my hand and sits me beside her.

She hugs me while moving closer to my ear.

Mother-"Ssshhhhh ssshhh my dear baby, I didn't want to leave you so soon. I'm so sorry but you have to realize that I'm still here with you." She whispers in my ear as she rubs my back.

"B-but mom I can't take it anymore! I don't want to be treated like a slave or food. I want things back to normal."

Mother-"I do to sweetie but please you have to keep living. For me." She started to sink back into the water.

"Nooo don't leave me again!! PLEASE!!!!" I try to hold on to her  hand but she keeps sinking.

Mother-"Please remember Evan. I'm always with you." Then she's got all the way into the water.

I sat on my knees and cried harder, knowing that I can't keep my only thing keeping me alive.

Suddenly the water starts bubbling and the same water monster comes out and growls at me. But now that I see it. It doesn't look like delirium at all nor any of the others, it was someone else!!!!

"You bastard you killed my mom!!! You ruin my life!!!" I pointed at it, show it my rage.

-"Come back to me."

"What?"

-"we can kill everyone here and rule over this earth. Just come with me."

"No fuck you!!! I'm going to kill you, I'll make sure of that."

The monster just kept looking at the top of me like something was there, like I didn't exist at all.

-"Then I will remain your enemy."

Then whole place became dark as I could finally open my eyes.

Evan pov. (Awake now)

I woke up as vanoss was in her monster form lying next to me had woken up as well, now licking me.

"Wow calm down girl, I'm alright. Thank you." She rubs her head on my back to get me to get up. I stand up but fall onto the floor as a growing pain goes through me.

"Ahh!" Vanoss lifts one of her wings to me and tries to lift me up again.

I stand up but lean on her for better balance.

"Thank you vanoss. But you know you can leave any time you want right? I don't want you to see me struggling everyday. Go be free." Vanoss looks at me, glaring a little bit then shakes her head refusing the good offer.

I hug her neck.

"You are the only one that listens to me. What would I do with out you?"

Vanoss chirps in happiness and moves me to were I'm on her back. She slowly walks to the door where I have to reach to open it. Then she walks down the stairs, really slowly since she knows how yesterday went.

I look up to see no one in the living room area nor anywhere to be exact.

'They must have went hunting.' My thought was then answered by a voice.

Luke-"They all went hunting and left me here." I turn and he's up the stairs coming down.

I look away from him because of my stupidness yesterday.

Luke-"We are all truly sorry for what happened yesterday you know? We didn't know that every day you spent here was terrifying for you. Believe me when I say we are all sorry. Their actually hunting and stuff for you to forgive them." What Luke said made my heart hurt more knowing that they were sorry, when all and all it wasn't their fault.

"Please ya don't have to do that just because of what I said. I was being foolish and didn't think before saying anything." He smiles at me and walks to the last step where me and vanoss were and took my chin into his hand.

Luke-"It's okay baby, everything is a-ok. We just want you to trust us enough to open up more, and not be forced to. So how about I carry you to the couch and we can eat some breakfast that moo made for us before leaving and watch TV?" I blush when he brings our faces closer together.

"O-ok." And let me tell you, he kept his words.

With vanoss in her smaller form now, she lays right beside Luke who had me in his lap, both of us watching TV.

'Maybe I can learn to trust them.'
