Newtina Oneshots

Dinner

Tina was on an auror mission in London, where she had run into Newt.

Newt kindly invited her to stay at his house with his family for the few days that she was going to be there.

After they had introduced Tina to his parents, they sat down for dinner.

Newt's dad Chris was sitting at the head of the table, then down the table was Newt's mom Jackie.

Next to Jackie was seated Theseus, and across from Theseus was Newt, and next to Newt was Tina.

They silently ate, with Tina sneaking a few glances at Newt, and Theseus watching curiously.

Newt didnt even want to look at his brother.

Theseus had gotten engaged to Leta Lestrange and had told Newt by letter, ignoring the fact that Leta was Newt's past lover who betrayed him.

Theseus knew very well what had happened at Hogwarts with Newt and Leta, but he either didn't care, or didn't want to mention it.

They were eating in silence when there was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it." Theseus said and stood up to head towards the door.

Seconds later they heard a voice from the door.

"Theseus honey!"

CRAP.

Newt had forgotten that Theseus had invited Leta over for dinner today.

Great. Just great.

Leta and Theseus emerged from around the corner with Leta holding onto his arm.

"Leta dear, how wonderful to see you again. Sit down, sit down." Jackie told her sweetly, but Chris remained silent.

Tina looked at Leta, and all her confidence went down the drain. Queenie had told her about Newt and Leta's past relationship, and she was not one bit pleased at the story.

Leta was much, much prettier than she was, Tina thought and looked back at her plate.

Leta sat down next to Theseus and scooted her chair closer to Theseus's so their arms were touching and they gazed at each other lovingly.

Tina glanced at Newt.

Newt had gone all pale and was staring at Leta and Theseus, his face full of betrayal, hurt, and saddness.

So he still loves her...  Tina thought and her heart sank.

Tina looked up at Leta again and got a good look at her. She was wearing a fancy dark blouse, her hair in waves, and she was wearing lipstick. And she then spotted the ring on her finger.

Tina felt a twinge of jealousy as she watched Newt look back at Leta.

Chris was glaring at Leta, and it was clear he didnt like her. At all.

Leta chatted away with Newt's mother, and completely ignored the fact that Newt was at the table.

After a few moments Theseus turned to Tina.

"You're Tina Goldstein, right? The auror?"

"Yes." Tina told him with surprise in her voice. How did he know?

Theseus read her expression and said, "Yeah we've heard great things about you. Newt's been talking all about you." he grinned at his younger brother.

Tina felt the heat rise in her cheeks and she looked at Newt in surprise.

Although Newt continued to ignore his brother, he looked at Tina through his fringe with a shy smile, his face all flushed.

Tina smiled at Newt and Theseus, still blushing. "Thanks."

The rest of the dinner was in silence, apart from Leta and Theseus whispering and giggling with each other.

Tina glanced at Newt again, and he was still looking at Leta. His father was good at controling his temper, but was still glaring at Leta.

Her gaze flickered from Newt, to Leta.

At this, Tina felt a mix of jealousy and anger rise in her chest and she glared at Leta.

She wanted to give that woman a lecture about what's right, and what's wrong.

After dinner, Newt showed her to her room and Tina only nodded, still thinking about the way Newt looked at Leta.

Newt realized the sad expression on her face and walked into the room, standing next to her.

"Tina? What's wrong?" He asked, his voice full of concern.

Tina plastered on a fake smile and shook her head.

But Newt knew her better than that.

Tina turned away from him, but Newt wouldnt give up.

He took her hand shyly and their eyes met. "Tina please, I know something's troubling you. Tell me." he pleaded with her.

Finally, Tina sighed and mustered up the courage to tell him.

"Um..do you still love her?"

"Come again?"

Tina blushed and looked down. "D-Do you still love Leta?" She cringed at how insicure she sounded.

Newt's eye's widened and it all clicked in his brain.

"Oh, Tina - no.."

To Tina's surprise, Newt hugged her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.

"Do I still love Leta? Of course not. It's just that it hurts me to see her with Theseus as you could probably tell. But I have my eyes on someone else..." he blurted out the last sentence and heat flooded his face.

Tina turned around to look at him. "And who is that?"

Newt was frozen like a deer in headlights. He couldnt not tell her now, so he had to tell her.

"Um, you see here Tina..." he paused and he could feel his face burning with heat. Newt took a deep breath and went for it.

"Its you, Tina."

Tina let out a small gasp, and Newt's eyes met the floorboards, scared to see her reaction.

"Newt..."

He looked up at her. Tina was smiling at him, her cheeks bright red.

She turned around completely so she was facing him, and cupped his face, and his hands found their way around her waist somehow.

"I like you too, Newt." She said, blushing even more and her eyes sparkling.

Newt's mind was racing. She likes me back! She actually likes me-

His thoughts were innterupted when Tina planted a soft kiss on his cheek and grinned.

Newt gaped at her blushing furiously, and Tina giggled at his reaction.

They stood there in each other's arms, a laughing mess.

Newt tucked a loose strand of hair behind Tina's ear, just like he had done at the docks and watched as the blush darkened across her cheeks.

And then, without no warning what-so-ever, he kissed her squarely on the lips and they both melted into it.

"It's about time."

Newt and Tina both jumped apart to see Theseus standing at the doorway.

They forgot that the door had been left open.

Theseus grinned at both of them and gave a little wave, before closing the door.

Newt and Tina both started laughing and pressed their foreheads together, going in for yet another kiss.

That was much longer than i intended it to be  BUT THATS OK.

Haha I'm writing this at 3:27 AM, there's no sense of normal after that! 😂😂😂😂 (but then again i can somehow function with little to no sleep)
