Harry's POV.

"I'm home!" I called, shutting the front door behind me.

"Hey babe. I'm going to take a shower." Lacey said, wrapping her arms around me. I nodded with a forced smile and tried walking away but she pulled me towards her.

"No kiss?" She pouted so I leaned down and pressed my lips onto hers, pulling away two seconds later. She raised her eyebrow but let go off me.

She leaned up and whispered in my ear. "Wanna join me?"

"I have some work to do." I lied. She nodded, disappointingly before making her way upstairs. As soon as I heard the bathroom door close I grabbed my laptop opened a ticket website.

I saw the look on Faye's face when I told her that I haven't broken up with Lacey yet. She was upset and I didn't want her to be upset because of me so I had the idea of surprising her with concert tickets.

I tried remembering the name of her favorite singer but I had already forgotten by now. I looked at the most popular concerts in town but didn't remember any of the names she had told me.

I grabbed my phone and went on her twitter to see who she was following. Shawn Mendes! That's the guy she was obsessed with.

I typed in his name in the search bar and saw that he was in town on my birthday. However, I also noticed that the concert was already sold out. He seemed to be really popular.

I decided to call the arena but they told me it was completely sold out.

"Do you maybe have a VIP box that I could rent? I'm willing to pay whatever it takes." I spoke into the phone, sounding very much desperate.

"The VIP boxes are closed for this event. I'm sorry, sir."

"Can you please make an exception? It's my birthday that day and my, uh, cousin she's a huge fan." I lied, feeling bad to refer to her as my cousin.

"Fine, are you able to come to the arena tomorrow. Just ask for me. I'm Greg Hudson. I'll get you all the information and tickets." He gave in and I thanked him a hundred times before hanging up.

"Who were you talking to?" I heard Lacey ask from behind me. I shut the laptop and turned around to face her.

"Oh just, Niall. He and the other invited me to this club on my birthday." I lied, smoothly.

"That's great. Where are we going."

Shit.

"Uhm, it's a guys night, actually. None of them are bringing their girlfriends, so I'm sorry but you can't go." I said, turning around to text Niall that I needed to talk to him as soon as possible because if Lacey asks him or the others my plan will be destroyed and I'm in huge trouble.

"Oh, okay. That's cool." She said and by the look on her face I saw that she was lying to me.

Ugh, she's probably going to tell Gemma about it. Lacey & Gemma were like best friends and they tell each other everything.

"Now, let me make you feel good." Lacey whispered, biting her lip.

"Actually, I'm really tired and I have to get up really early tomorrow." I said, backing away from her and walking up the stairs. I can't keep on doing this. I need to tell her. But how?

Faye's POV.

"What can I buy him?" I repeatedly asked myself that questions.

Harry's birthday was only a few days away and I didn't even know about it. After school I immediately went to the mall to try and find a present for him.

My budget was limited so I was really struggling to find something for someone who basically has everything.

I entered multiple shops but ended up with nothing. When I was about to give up I spotted an old school looking Polaroid camera at an electronic shop. It was on sale but still over my budget.

I stared at the camera for what felt like half an hour. What if he doesn't like it? I mean, I could still keep it for myself or just bring it back and get him something else, right?

An idea formed in my head and I decided to just buy the camera. If I for whatever reason decide against giving it to him I will just keep it myself. I've always wanted one of these.

I grabbed one in brown and went to pay.

On my way to the exit of the mall I spotted a decoration store and went inside to see if they had something else or maybe just a box where I could put the camera inside.

I found a box that had the word 'memories' written on it and smiled at the idea of him putting the pictures of his memories with me inside the box. I payed for the box before making my way back home.

I hid the bag with Harry's gift when I entered the house and luckily my parents didn't notice as I sprinted up to my room to hide the gifts under my bed.

I smiled to myself as suddenly my phone buzzed and I had a text from Harry.

Harry: Don't make plans for the 1st x

Me: It's your birthday aren't you celebrating with your family? x

Harry: No, I have a surprise for you so be ready at 6pm

Me: okay? xx

I opened Instagram and scrolled through my timeline for hours until my mom called me down for dinner.

"We're really disappointed in you, Faye." Was the first thing my dad said to me as I sat down on the table.

"What did I do know?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

"Since you've missed the first deadline to apply for college we've decided to cut your money short. You still have til the 1st to apply or else this will have consequences, young lady."

"Are you kidding me? I told you I would take a gap year. A lot of people do that nowadays. It's not unusual, you know." I rolled my eyes and aggressively shoved my food from side to side since I've already lost my appetite.

"We just don't think you're going to apply for next year. Next thing you know, you're working at a coffee shop for the rest of your life." My mom said, taking a sip out of her mug.

"I'm seventeen for fucks sake! I'm not going to college this year. End of story." I snapped but that only made things worse so I went to my room and punched a pillow in frustration.

Why can't they just accept my decision?
