"Faye! It's time to go!"
"One second mom!" I yelled and finished applying my mascara. I made a quick touch up on my lips before I quickly stripped out of my sweatpants and t-shirt to slip on the beautiful dress.
I smiled into the mirror before grabbing my heels and running down the stairs to see my mom, dad and my brother Jaxon already waiting for me.
I put my heels on in the car and listened to some music so I wouldn't have to start a conversation with my parents. I didn't want to fight with them before my cousins wedding.
Half an hour later we arrived at the church and parked the car around the corner.
"Please behave yourself." My mom warned me as we approached the huge crowd of people.
"You don't have to tell me that." I muttered, annoyed.
"What was that?" She asked, turning her head so she could look at me.
"Nothing." I waved her off and she nodded before grabbing my dad's hand and greeting my aunt.
If I'm honest I don't have much contact with my family other than my parents, my brother and my grandpa. I used to be really close with my grandparents on my dad's side but they sadly passed away a couple years ago.
"I don't like auntie Charlotte." Jaxon whispered to me.
"I don't like her either." I whispered back, placing my pointer finger against my lips to show him that no one's supposed to know that.
He nodded, smiling.
I shook my head and ruffled his hair, making him groan. He's literally the most understanding person on earth even though he's only four. Ok, he might not understand everything but he barely questions anything and I loved that about him.
Our parents dragged us around, pushing us to greet family and friends. This was not my scene.
I looked around, scanning everyone's faces until I stopped at one person. A guy. Brown, curly hair and a smile on his face that was melting me, completely.
As if he sensed that I was watching him he turned his head slightly and stared right at me.
I literally had trouble breathing as the right corner of his mouth rose slightly higher than the other. Oh my freaking god. That dimple.
I would've died right then and there if Jaxon wouldn't have grabbed my hand in order to get me to follow our parents into the church to take our seats.
"Fuck." I said to myself. I've only once seen such gifted human and that was when Shawn Mendes was in town and I met him in front of his hotel.
Jaxon & I played a couple of rounds of Rock, Paper, Scissors before the wedding begun. Everyone got up from their seats as the music started playing and the doors opened to reveal the bride.
Everyone's focus was on her, except mine.
A certain guy had caught my eye yet again and I was frozen in place as he pushed his hair back and watched the bride like everyone else.
Unfortunately, the situation got even more embarrassing as it has been outside just a couple minutes ago. The bride was already at the altar and my eyes were still fixed on the guy a couple rows behind me.
Suddenly, he turned his head and his eyes met mine again. He was literally staring into my soul.
My mother cleared her throat and I quickly turned around and took a seat like everyone else.
Why am I like this?
The wedding was beautiful. They were honestly made for each other and I've only been to one wedding before this one so I thought it was pretty special to witness. I can't wait for my own wedding someday.
After the wedding we all drove to the reception that was held in a huge ballroom. My parents were already out and about, talking to friends and family while I had forced Jaxon to dance with me.
"May I cut in?" Someone asked from behind me. Jaxon nodded, happily and ran off as if dancing with me was the most horrible thing he ever had to do.
I turned around and as soon as I did the persons hand was already on my lower back and the other gripped mine, firmly. I looked up and gasped, slightly at the man in front of me.
His lips were formed into a smirk as he was watching me, awkwardly putting my hand on his shoulder.
"Your brother didn't seem to have much fun so I just had to put him out of his misery." The guy said with a noticeable and weirdly soothing, British accent.
"I- eh, yea." I mentally facepalmed and send a quick smile at the British beauty in front of me before looking away to avoid the awkwardness.
"What's your name, love?"
"Faye." I answered, pretending to be much more interested in something to our right since I couldn't look behind him. Short people struggles.
He opened his mouth to say something but I beat him to it.
"I think I...I should...leave." I pointed out and made some weird handmove before practically running away to safety.
I sprinted down the stairs and entered the women's bathroom. The door slammed against the wall and a woman stepped out of a stall with furrowed eyebrows.
"Sorry." I apologized and held the door open for her before closing it. I gripped onto the sink and sighed as I looked up at the mirror.
"Get yourself together Faye!" I scolded myself.
I groaned and aggressively washed my hands. I looked into the mirror once more while drying my hands. I had to get back upstairs, hoping to not see that guy for the rest of the night or preferably ever.
I made a complete fool of myself.
As I exited the bathroom I was suddenly spun around and pressed against the wall opposite the bathroom.
I looked up and a millisecond later someone's lips firmly pressed onto mine, giving me a heart attack.
Well not literally.
