Today I am a senior in college. It took a lot of hard work to get where I am today.
I'm working at a local library. It's good because I get half off school books. It really calm here. I used to come here when I was younger to escape from my parents. I'm having to pay for my own housing and tuition at school. My mother and father think believe that 'if I want something, I have to work for it.' So that's what I've been doing. Working.

I have a boyfriend and a couple friends that give me support. My boyfriend, Jax is really nice. We met in my freshman year of college. He's been with me sense. He gets me. I really love him and he loves me. Jax doesn't know about my past so when he brings it up I try to change the subject. Alayna and me are still friends. She seems a bit distant lately but I understand that she's probably busy. I've gathered a couple of new friends. There's Tyler, he really loud and really energized. all. The. Time. Then there's lia. She's the rude one. She's a spitfire considering her small height but don't let that fool you. Then there's Jax, Alayna, and me. No one knows about my past. I tend not to talk about it.

"Odele!!!" Someone yelled across the library. I looked up from my book and saw lia running Straight for me. Tyler following close behind. I gave her an amused look. "Yes? That's me. Don't wear it out." I said with a snarky voice. "Ha ha." Tyler said sarcastically. "Odele! I need you to do me a huge favor!" Lia said in a rush. Tyler took her hand and she calmed down almost instantly. Awww they're so cute. "Yes. What do you need me to do this time." I said nicely. This is the second time this week she needs me to do something for her. "Can you pretty please go get these things on this list for me." She looked in my eyes pleading. "I'm working right now. What's this all for?" I said looking at the very long list.

"It's a party. It's for our alph-I mean a friend. It's his birthday so I wanted to make it special. Lia and I have to get the other things for the party." Tyler said. I looked at my watch and sighed in defeat. It's 4:30. "Ugh. Fine. Let me get my things and I'll drop the stuff off at your apartment."

"Thank you times 5. Your a real lifesaver!" Lia said as she hugged me. "Yeah yeah. Just go so I can get the things." I said as I grabbed my bag.

Along with a bunch of other food.
Ugh wtf. Are they feeding a bunch of dogs. All of this is meat. I tied my hair into a messy bun and walked down the produce area. "Oh my god. Stop!" I heard a Familiar voice say as they were giggling. I turned to see Alayna. I was about to say hello but then I saw to her right was Jax.

He kissed her cheek and whispered something in her ear. I almost dropped the carrots I was holding. A small tear ran down my face as I left to go get something from another Area.

Well this is great. "Del?" I turned to see Jax behind me. I stood there. Looking at the guy I thought loved me. I was wrong. I gave him a hard glare. "Oh hey! Jax! I uh didn't see you there!" I said as I ran my shopping cart over his foot. "Shit." He muttered as he looked at his foot. "Hey babe what did you say you needed?" Alayna said as she turned the corner.

Her eyes widened. These two people I trusted so much. They betrayed me. He turned to her and gave her a "not now" look. "Ha. How cliché. My boyfriend and best friend are cheating on me. Well let me tell you this." I said with as much power as I could get. "You are a sick excuse of a friend. How long? How long have you two been fucking each other behind my back." I said pointing to Alayna. Her brown hair was a styled perfectly. Her clothes were tight. Wow. Did I not see it? Sure I heard things from people saying she was a slut but I always defended her. Now it was all clear.

"Del look-" "you have no right to call me that." I said cutting Jax off. They both looked stunned. I realized I didn't need an answer. I knew he was a cheating man whore. "Your both just attention whores and I can't believe I let you fool me for so long. We are done." I said looking at him right In is eyes. His messy blonde hair and blue eyes. Classic golden boy. "And you" I said with disgust turning to my so called 'best friend'. "We've been friends sense 7th grade. How could YOU do this to me. You of all people. Don't even think to breathe on my direction for now on. I don't wanna catch slut in my system." I said as I walked off.

My anger was boiling. I took the things I had and left not even bothering to finish the list. I'll call Lia and tell her about my situation. I hope she'll understand that I couldn't finish the list.

I dropped the things off at her place and told her everything. I cried. I yelled. She just let me cry on her shoulder. I realized that she was a true friend. "Ugh what a slut! This is just barbaric. Let me at her! I'll knock her into next week!" She said with so much anger. Tyler was looking at me from the corner of the living room." Believe me. That's really sweet babe but let's notice that her dad is a police officer. Not that it matters but we don't want a law suit on our hands." Tyler said walking over to her.

"Wanna Watch sad movies? Wait. Maybe that's not the best. Titanic? Ugh wait that's a romance. The notebook? Twilight?" Lia said as she turned on the tv. "Local storm of the century." Is the first thing that pops up. "Can you turn it up?" I said as I sat up. "You wanna Watch the news? Fine by me but I thought that you might've wanted to watch something a little more...interesting?" Lia said as she turned up the tv. "The storm should hit around 9:00 tonight. This is one of the most powerful storms of the century. Do not leave your houses and don't go outside." The news reporter said. "Well this is just fantastic. I'm working the night shift tonight at the library." My day is going from bad to worse.

I left Lia and Tyler's apartment. When I left it was starting to rain. I drove to the library. The sky was scary. The lightning was cracking and the thunder was angry. I've always loved storms but tonight was different. Something was wrong. Very wrong.

As I pulled up the the library I saw the lightning and thunder was getting worse so I tried to get in as fast as possible.

I closed the door to the library I was cover in rain head to toe. I took off my red rain jacket and turned on the fireplace. I picked out a book and just sat there thinking.  I was think about Jax and Alayna. How there egos are to big for there brains.

The power just went out. I've been here for 2 hours and the storm is in full swing. Now the only thing lighting up a room is lightning. To say that I'm scared is an understatement.

I tried to relax and sleep. But sleep never came.

The room shook.
A window broke. The rain was storming in.

How am I gonna fix that? I looked around the room I saw my umbrella in the corner. I decided that it would be best to leave and tell my boss about it when the storm was over. I got my things and locked up the place. Expect for the broken window.

The metal key was in my hand along with my umbrella blowing in the wind. I'm shocked it didn't fly away. As I walked up to my car I felt some sort of power in me. It felt weird. I got out my car keys and unlocked the car with the keys still in. My hand touched them to get them out and I felt a surge of electricity. It was overwhelming. I looked at my hand and everything went to darkness.
