John, however, was completely relieved. But he didn't know what to say. He got up and went over to Paul and put his arms around him.
He whispered in Paul's ear, "It's okay, I like you too."
"Really?" Paul was almost in tears. He did not want John to let go.
"Yeah, deep down inside I always knew there was something about you..."
"John, should we keep this a secret?"
"How can it be a secret? I see the way you look at me all the time."
Paul smiled. "Did you really have a girl last night?"
"Nah a couple of guys came and helped me move some furniture, you know the problems I have."
"Yeah, heh. So then why did you stop by this morning?"
"I couldn't risk you having anyone while I had feelings for you."
Paul thought that was adorable. He then put his arms around John. He sighed.
"Maybe one day," Paul said, "We'll have a small apartment and you can have your bed in the floor, just like you always dreamed of."
"You really mean that?"
"Of course I do. Come on let's go back into town. I'm not good at deep conversations."
"Heh." John mumbled.
They walked through the field, holding each other's hands and their guitars.
When they reached the exit of the park, that's when all hell broke loose.
