A broken heart

Part 3: Memories

I left the three of them alone and rushed to my lockers where I felt safe. And it was the only peaceful place I have in the whole university except the rooftop.

I sat down, hugging my knees at the corner of the room, in the darkness where no one could see me.
Tears trickled down my face when I thought about him. Soon, I could not stop crying, sobbing softly so that no one could hear me.

Just then, i felt a hand on my head.
"My love", a voice said
"No... this couldn't be..", I thought as I lifted my head up and I saw him, with his angelic smile on his face. Those cute cresent eyes whenever he smiled.
"Why are u crying?", he wiped the tears off my face.
I didnt say anything but hugged him tight.
"Love.. where were you all this time? I have missed you. It's been 2 years already. You never left my mind."
I started crying harder, still hugging him, feeling his warmth until a different voice  hit me,
"Areum-ssi.. are you okay?"
My eyes opened wide as if someone poured a cold bucket of water onto me.
I let go of the person just to know that I was hugging Jungkook. I quickly wiped my tears and stood up.
"Wht are you doing here?, my voice changed to a cold one.
He also stood up. I could see the glint of worry in his eyes but I'm too stubborn to say anything.
"I was just worried as you skipped lunch." He said.

"Ohh.. that won't be necessary. I am fine.", I walked past him to the door. Yet then I stopped and turned around, "You didn't see anything here.", he nodded in response. As soon as I saw the response, I left the room to the washroom to wash my face so tht no one would recognise that I cried, especially my two best friends.
The bell rang and I headed back to the class.
I took my seat beside Jungkook, who remained silent.
I glanced at Stephanie, who mouthed 'Sorry'. I didnt say anything but to look at the lecturer who was giving us assignments.

Jungkook's POV

I had no idea why she had been acting like this. I followed her to check if she was okay or not. I saw her making her way to the lockers. When I got there, she was sitting in the dark, crying.

She didnt even seem to notice my prescence there. I made my way to just poke her and ask.
"Areum-ssi? Are you ok?", she glanced up and our eyes met. She didnt say anything but to hug me tight saying that it had been 2 years and she was alone. I was confused but i placed my hand on her waist.
"2 years?", I thought
I asked her again.. "Areum-ssi, are you okay?" That was when she snapped back into reality, out from her thoughts.
The cold Areum was back.
"You didn't see anything in here."
I nodded in response.
I made my way back to the class and took my seat. She came in afterwards before the lecturer came in for the next class. We just minded our own businesses.

Areum's POV

Finally the school ended and I made my way back to my house. While I was walking along, I glanced up and saw Cherry Blossoms. They were so beautiful which reminded me of:

After the cold winter ends,
Until spring decides to come again,
Until flowers they bloom again,
Just stay where you are and wait for me.
Please wait for me..

It was the song he sang for me.. I knew that I was about to cry but I reminded myself not to cry. Bit I could not control anymore when the flashback played in my head.

Flashback

I was walking along the same road. And I stopped when someone from behind closed my eyes.
"Who is this?", i asked while holding the stranger's warm hands.
"Who do u think i am?", i suddenly recognised his voice. A smile appeared on my face as I happily replied.
"Baby?", I removed his hands and turned around to see him.
"You got me.", he slowly smiled at me.
I threw myself into his arms, hugging him.
He hugged me and planted a kiss on my forehead.

"Flowers blooming towards the sky
 Has winter finally passed by?
 I miss you.."

"I miss u too baby.", i giggled.
He then leaned in to kiss me. I still remember his warm plump lips touching mine.
It was the best day of my life.

Flashback ended

It was the moment I realised that I was crying.
"It's all my fault.. it's all my fault.", I blamed myself while walking along the quiet alley, back to my house.
I went to my room, ignoring everyone. I locked the door. I wanted to be alone.

"I miss you so much.."
