A broken heart

Part 5: The Rooftop

I just ran up to the rooftop for some fresh air. I knew it was a very bad thing to do but I just could not control my temper.
I was staring at the view infront of me.
It was nothing special, just the blue sky and beautiful white clouds..
"It's so peaceful." I whispered quietly to myself, closing my eyes to feel the breeze.

Jungkook's POV

I was really shocked when she shouted at me. Of course I was embrassed. I was not mad at her but i saw many girls glaring at her. I just wanted to know what was wrong with her. My only choice was to go and ask her friends.

As usual, she was with Taehyung.
"Umm hey.."
"Oh, Jungkook, take a seat.", I took a seat across her.
"Can you tell me what's wrong with Areum-ssi? She seems weird today and kinda frustrated too..",
"Umm yeah.. she's always like that when she has a nightmare or something abt Jimin..",
She was about to continue when Taehyung cut her off.
"Yah! Stop it."
"What? I didnt do anything wrong."
I interrupted,
"Who's Jimin you guys are talking about? How is he concerned with all of this?", Curiosity grew in me. I needed answers.
They both stared at each other, hesitating to tell what actually happened.

"Umm.. guyss?", I broke the silent atmosphere.
"I- sorry, Jungkook.. i can't tell you this. It's more of her personal life. If you want to know, it would be better for you to ask her by yourself.", Taehyung shot at me.
I didnt say anything but to leave them. They weren't wrong.
I left the canteen and went to search for her.
I searched her everywhere and there was no hope so I just decided to go to the rooftop. It was my favorite place since I got here.

I reached the rooftop and unexpectedly saw her there. Not wanting to disturb her, I didn't make a sound, approaching towards her.
I stood beside her.
"Ohh", she seemed surprised.
"Hey", I didnt know what to say since things were awkward between us. She acknowledged it with a small nod and turned her head to look at the view.

The sky above was very beautiful that day.. but not as beautiful as she was.
I stared at her for a moment.

"If only she would let me in and know more about her.."

"You know it's rude to stare like that.", she seemed to notice.

Oh shit.

"Umm- it's nothing. I was thinking of something."
She said nothing but to scoff quietly.
"Areum-ssi?"
"What?"
"I am sorry if I annoyed you alot. I never meant to get on your nerves. I just want to get to know you better-"

"No.", she cut me off again. "You wouldn't want to know me better. Trust me."
I was speechless upon what she said. I just stood there in silence.

We just were there for a few minutes unt she just left the place, and I was just.. there.

Areum's POV

I just left him on the rooftop and headed back to class. The noisy class went under silence as soon as I stepped into it. Everyone's eyes were on me yet I did not care.

She shouted at Jungkook. How dare she?
She's a devil.
She didn't even apologise him for that.
How could she yell at an angel?

I guess that's what you get when you snap at a cute boy.

"What?"

Everyone just minded their own business after that.
Later, he came into the room before the class began.

Why couldn't I say sorry to him??
