Toni's P.O.V.
"Hey! Dilton!" Jughead yelled out. The boy walked away from his troop to stand face to face with Jughead.
"What do you want this time?"
"I've heard from Pop that you went to one of the booths and just sat there in silence and didn't order anything," Jughead responded, crossing his arms. "May I ask why?"
"Home problems and I just needed some air, so?" Dilton stuttered. I automatically knew he was lying.
"Hey, nerd. How about you tell us the truth?" I jumped in, walking towards Dilton.
"Look, it's late out and I need to take my troop home. Can we talk about this later?" And with that, he walked away from us to go to his troop.
"You're just going to let him walk away like that, Jones?" Fangs shouted in anger. "He could be the piece to the puzzle!"
"Look, I know Dilton. He's a liar-"
"Yeah, and you let the liar walk away! He could've lied about that whole thing about home problems!" Sweetpea shouted.
"He was lying. I could tell." I jumped in, staring at Jughead.
"Yes, I know he was lying but, Dilton would never hurt a fly. He's not like that." Jughead continued.
"What a leader you are, Jughead," Sweetpea scoffed. "If Bethany's mom dies, it's your fault." Sweetpea pointed his finger at Jughead and then walked away.
Fangs and I followed him, not wanting to deal with Jughead's bullshit.
"You guys gonna follow me to the White Wyrm?"
"Yup. I wish FP was our leader again." I sighed, walking a bit slowly.
