MelThe door slammed shut with a bang, sealing my fate.
I was dumped on a chair unceremoniously by Mr Robber Guy as he retreated back to stand with the others. They glared at me collectively in silence.
Sheepishly, I twisted my fingers as I waited for them to say something.Mr Cocky Pants was the first to speak.
"Why did you run?" He asked angrily.
I swallowed, my mouth dry. Wasn't it obvious? There was a bunch of strange guys roaming around my house.
"Uh..."
"Answer me!"
His hand slammed down on the table beside me. I didn't flinch, which seemed to make him pause for a second."Hurry up! Or so help me I will-"
"Warren. Calm down, man. You're scaring her," reprimanded Labrador.
A streak of anger flared inside me.
Scared?
I wasn't scared.
Violence didn't bother me as it did most people. It was used too much in my life to make a difference to me any more. In fact, I would almost prefer it if people dealt in violence instead of cloaking their lies in pretty words and promises - brutality was much more honest.
The only thing that got to me was pity.
I wasn't some weak, helpless damsel in distress that needed some stupid prince charming to save her. I was over waiting for someone else to save me.
I wouldn't have been able to cope if I wasn't.
I had been doing just fine up until now, and then they had to go and ruin it all.
These boys were about to see me erupt.
