I woke up earlier than I would have liked to considering I'd stayed up thinking until around three. Right now it was nine and my body was threatening to shut down at any moment, but I couldn't get back to sleep no matter how hard I tried. About five minutes ago I'd decided that sleep was a lost cause and hopped in the shower to wash off from the night before. I dried off and threw my shorts and Zion's hoodie back on. It still smelled strongly of him and I loved every second of it. I also threw on some makeup that Audrey had insisted on packing and made a mental note to thank her the next time I saw her. Despite having stayed in a random hotel after a night out, I looked decent. I headed out into the kitchen where Edwin and Austin were cooking some form of eggs that somehow looked like hash browns. Ruby was standing in the kitchen as well trying to help them. She looked infuriated as she barked orders at the two boys who didn't pay any attention to her. Zion and Nick were no where to be seen, and I noticed Brandon and Audrey sitting on opposite sides of the couch. It was the first time I'd seen Audrey since her little scene and she was now wearing a large T-shirt that basically swallowed her. I sat down at the bar in the kitchen and watched the fiasco unfold.
"Oh my god. Just stop. Why are you putting food dye in eggs?" Ruby seemed frantic as she grabbed the small bottle out of Edwin's hands.
"We were trying to make green eggs and ham..." Austin chimed in quietly. I began to laugh hysterically which only made Ruby more frustrated. I heard the familiar click of a door and flipped my head to see Zion walking towards the kitchen. He was wearing a T-shirt and shorts which perfectly framed his broad shoulders. I didn't understand how he looked so damn gorgeous in the clothes he'd probably slept in. While he did look amazing, he also looked like he hadn't slept all night. He walked up to the counter groggily and took a seat next to me before laying his head in his hands. I was shocked to see Zion in such a depressing mood since I was used to him being goofy and smiling all the time. I noticed Ruby get quiet as Zion walked up to us.
"If you hadn't noticed." Brandon got up fro the couch. "Zion isn't much of a morning person." All the boys started to laugh and make fun while Brandon stood behind Zion and ruffled his hair playfully.
"And neither am I." Nick also excited his room and took a seat on one of the barstools after shooting a glare at all of us.
"Someone's grumpy." Brandon giggled.
"Shut the fuck up dude." Nick snapped angrily. It seemed as though his face was turning red with fury. It got really silent really quick.
"Um... Who wants green eggs and ham?" Austin held up the pan that looked more like a science experiment than a meal awkwardly. We all ended up trying the concoction, but every single one of us spit is out immediately after. Audrey had offered to make some real food since we were all starving. Everyone besides Audrey, who was cooking in the kitchen, was sitting at the dining room table. My eyes were glued to my phone, same as everyone else, when Nick got up suddenly and walked towards his room. Ruby also excused herself to the bathroom. That left me, Zion, Brandon, Austin, and Edwin sitting alone at the table. Sure, I was outgoing, but I was not about to face four hot guys all at once. I stood up from the table and headed towards the bathroom as well. I was hoping to find Ruby so that we could discuss some of the events of the night before. I was confused when I found the bathroom empty with the lights off. I assumed Ruby had just gone to another bathroom, and I had just begun my search for her when I heard commotion from inside the door Nick had come out of this morning.
"What the fuck is your problem Nick?" Ruby yelled. I was about to barge into the room and slap Nick across the face when I heard his response.
"My problem is that you and Zion kissed last night!" They had kissed? Everything started to fit into place. Zion was tired because he and Ruby had stayed up late doing god knows what, and they both were acting awkward because of the night they'd shared. For some reason I felt a wave of anger come over me. I didn't know why I felt that way. I mean yeah I'd been the first to meet Zion, but it's not like we were a couple or something. I blamed my feelings on the shock of hearing the news, and hearing that Nick was upset about it and made my way back to the dining room. Everyone besides Nick and Ruby had begun to eat so I sat down next to Audrey and started to fill my plate with some breakfast that I hoped would clear my mind. I snuck a peek at Zion who happened to be staring right back at me. He smiled and my heart fluttered. I was angry, but I was also happy. I didn't know how I felt.
