the obnoxiously loud ringing of my phone causes me to jolt awake, frowning as my hands fumble to reach my phone while i groan during the process.

"i was sleeping." I stare blankly, already knowing who it is and what she was going to say over the phone.

"Ava what the hell! it's summer eve and you're taking a damn nap?" i roll my eyes, sitting up in my very warm bed.

"yes Aspen, i was." i hear her scoff before hanging up, i frown at the odd conversation before curling back up into bed and fluttering my eyes back shut.

"i just can't believe you." i jump up, seeing Aspen walking into my room and towards my closet as i just look at her.

"i should've never given you the code to get into the house." i groan flopping back onto my bed as she flips through the articles of clothing hanging up nicely.

"what are you doing?" i extend the g on doing just to get her attention, i sit up on the edge of my bed and watch her as she grabs my suitcase.

"i'm packing for you?" she says in a questioning tone, making my eyebrows furrow unsure of where exactly we're planning on going.

"fo-" before i could finish she runs to my bed and jumps on top of me, bouncing which causes me to laugh.

"we're going to LA, Ava!" she shouts, cupping my cheeks which squishes them together. my eyes widen at the mention of LA, where is this coming from? god maybe a nap was a bad idea, my brain isn't functioning.

"Alex called me earlier and told me to surprise you but i know you would've beaten me if i wouldn't have told you." Aspen shrugs, rolling off of me and sitting next to me on the edge of the plush bed. i nod in agreement, figuring it was my older brother since he moved to LA last year and i haven't seen him since. i begin folding things nicely to pack as Aspen talks my ear off about the usual gossip which i try my hardest to avoid.

"how long are we gonna be there?" i question, wondering how much i should actually pack.

"wow Ava, yes i was totally done talking. but, the whole summer." i raise an eyebrow towards her, making her nod as she flashes four fingers towards me signaling four months. my eyes become wide as i glance at my closet and back to Aspen who grins.

"forgot to include Alex said he'd buy us a wardrobe for down there too, surprise." Aspen laughs, making me sigh thankfully for my brother who already knew i'd over stress just over not having enough to wear.

two hours later of nicely folding my clothes and bikinis and packing everything i could think of to take with me, i sigh and lay back on the floor my eyes closing on their own as Aspen clears her throat.

"get sleep, our flight leaves at 5 am." Aspen smiles casually as if we don't have to get up at 4 to beat security. i throw a flip flop at her as she bursts into a fit of laughter before i climb up and curl into my fluffy blanket, Aspen flipping off the light switch and plopping down next to me. before i even realize im knocked out, even when Aspen tries to converse with me.

"wake up, god dammit Ava." i groan my eyes not wanting to open as i slowly pry them open, seeing Aspen dressed in a Nike sweatshirt, white athletic shorts and simple blue Nike shoes to match the sweatshirt, she had her very long blond hair tied up into a top knot.

too early.

i shake my head before feeling my blanket ripped from me, leaving my body cold as i sit up and glare at Aspen who has a smile on her face.

"goodmorning sunshine. we're leaving in five." she ruffles my hair before shuffling out of my room and taking my luggage with her.

i slowly slip out of bed, realizing i have no time to shower as i curse not being able to get out of bed earlier. i throw on a pair of nike pro shorts with my columbia university sweatshirt and nike slides. my hair thrown into a messy bun, i shuffle out of my room and see Aspen gathering all of our luggage.

"took you long enough, cmon the uber is outside." i grab my two suitcases and shuffle to the elevator before arriving in the lobby and packing into the uber.

an hour later after we got through security we get situated in our seats, i grabbed the window seat before Aspen which resulted in me getting punched in the arm. i curl up in my seat, looking out of the small window before drifting off to sleep. i hear Aspen as i slowly fall asleep which makes me lightly smile.

"bye bye New York, hello Los Angeles."

let's hope i sleep through the whole flight.
