Ava POV
i sat across from him on the ground my stomach hurting from the constant laughing all night, we were currently sat in a huge tunnel where sharks could swim over you. we sat on the floor and decided to eat our large amount of fries here, dipping them into our soft serve ice cream. i look at Lucas, my eyes scanning over him carefully and taking in small details of his features. such as the light scar he has on his forehead, or the stubble spread lightly across his chin. or his lips, i couldn't stop glancing at his lips. especially when they pulled apart to reveal his breathtaking smile, i could just watch him smile all the time. we had been asking each other questions for the past few hours, never getting bored.
"what's something that scares you?" i question, plopping another fry into my mouth as i wait for his answer, i see his thick brows furrow in deep thought.
"the kool aid man." he nods, a completely serious look on his face before he fails and cracks a smile. i smile before waiting for his true answer, grabbing another fry.
"not being happy." he states, making me nod. i completely understand that and his point of view, my eyes remaining on his face as he goes into detail about his life and how it was before he moved here with Alex. i tell him about college and how it is there and my childhood along with future plans. i check the time, seeing it was now almost one in the morning i laugh.
"how'd we get to stay in here this late?" i question and look around at all of the sharks slowly swimming over us.
"my buddy is the manager here, he stays here pretty late himself." Lucas nods, standing before extending his hand out for me. "cmon." i take his hand and feel my body jolt as my usual cold hands come in contact with his rough warm ones. we head outside, the pitch black skies making me shiver before we climb back into the car. he turns on some music but turns it low enough to where we could talk, but loud enough so we could hear it. i sit with my legs tucked underneath me, my body facing Lucas as i sit in the passenger seat while we talk. his hand resting comfortably on my knee, making my stomach flip as i listen to his deep soothing voice.
"you're so beautiful, ava." he says in a low voice, my eyes turning up to meet his as he says this. i smile lightly, having the strongest urge to kiss him my eyes scan over his vibrant pink lips before back up to his deep brown eyes.
"i want you to kiss me." i blurt out, not even thinking as the words spilled from my mouth. Lucas doesn't hesitate as he leans forward, his hand immediately going to hold the side of my neck as his lips meet mine. the lips i've been staring at for the past three weeks. god, they were so soft. his lips move perfectly against mine, my hand resting on his jawline before we slowly pull away. our foreheads rest together with our eyes shut, sitting in the comfortable warm silence that filled the car.
after a little while longer we make our way home, quietly sneaking to the house as it was already 3 AM. i smile at lucas before making my way upstairs into my room to change into something way more comfortable than the outfit i had on. i hop into the shower quickly after stripping off the uncomfortable clothing, my body relaxing even more as the hot water runs down my body. i do my normal shower routine and hop out, drying off my hair and putting on a blue lace bra which could be seen through my white "columbia" t shirt along with some tight blue shorts to match the lettering on the shirt. i hop into bed and lay down, tossing and turning for about an hour before i groan and get up, going downstairs to look for something to snack on. i bend over as i search in the fridge, finding a bowl of mixed fruit. i smile and grab the bowl setting it on the counter and helping myself to a good way to end the night.
"can't sleep?" i hear that familiar deep comforting voice as i nod, chewing the rest of the fruit in my mouth before i can respond.
"not at all." i sigh, feeling him walk towards me as i bite the inside of my cheek. i want to kiss him again, but longer. way longer. i feel his heat radiate from his body as he stands next to me, taking a piece of fruit from the bowl. we sit in silence for a few minutes, both thinking about something but neither of us talking about it.
"fuck it." he says before i can question anything his hand grips onto my waist and pulls me to him, his other hand holding the back of my head as our lips meet again. i practically melt in his hold as my hand grips onto the fabric of his shirt. i want it off. before i can process anything the lights flip on and i already know lucas and i look like deer in headlights.
