Marshalls POV

Its been a year. Yes, a whole year since we got transported here into the human world. A whole year since I was a vampire.

"At least its the summer", I murmur to myself, adjusting my sitting position on the soft sand next to Marceline.

"I know what you're thinking dude", she replied, her blue gray eyes clouded with pain.

"I miss Aaa", I sigh, holding my hand out, warming it in the sun,"I miss hating the sun".

"That's a weird thing to say", Marceline chuckled,"I miss my dad".

"But your dads evil!", I exclaim gazing at the ocean where Finn, Jake and Fionna were having water fight.

If you haven't guessed already, we were at the beach. Actually Bonnie and Bubba disagreed and said that they were really close to getting us home so we excused them.

"Yea, still mad at him or the fry thing but, he's not that bad", she shrugged.

"The fry thing?", I quirked an eyebrow at Marceline, hoping she'd cough up an amusing story to lighten up my day.

"Its kinda personal if ya don't mind", she smirked and got out an apple from our basket of food. "I miss eating the colour red".

"Yup", I agree, popping at the p. I also rummaged in the basket and pulled out a single strawberry.

Taking a bite, I let the sweetness take over my taste buds before swallowing,"It tastes so weird. I'm still not used to it!"

"I know right", she said, smiling as Finn came running up to them, his blue shirt and shorts soaking wet from the salty water.

"Hey guys, why don't you join us", he said casually running his hand through his dirty blonde hair.

"Nah I'm fine, I like my hair dry", I say bluntly, but striking a sarcastic pose to make the others snort with laughter.

"Marceline?", Finn pouted, doing puppy dog eyes on Marceline.

She scowled. Finn frowned sadly and stared at his feet. An awkward silence formed between the three of us.

I smirked as I saw Fionna try to sneak behind me. She noticed my gaze and cursed under her breath. My cocky smirk grew wider as I signalled to Marceline who still had no clue.

Fionna mouthed 'Thanks' and I winked in reply. She slowly placed one foot in front of the other, trying not to make a noise.

A sharp yelp came from marceline as the freezing cold salt water poured on her. She growled at Finn and Fionna who were laughing like maniacs. Even Jake, who was terrified of her, came up and ruffled her now soaking wet hair, chuckling.

"What's all this?", Bubblegums kind of High Pitched voice sounded over the laughing.

She glanced at Fionna, who was still holding the green bucket by its handle. Then to the dripping wet marceline, growling and cursing under her breath. Basically, I was the only dry one except from Bonnie. It was freaking hilarious.

"Just enjoying summer", Fionna chirped with a wide grin on her face.

"I think I have the formula to get back home now", she said coldly,"Why did you have to drench marceline, I need her asap!"

"Its pretty funny though", I chuckle standing up and grabbing the basket ad Marcy followed.

"Not really. If we get back, your on her death list", Bonnie reminded.

"I'm already dead", I sass back sarcastically waving my hands about.

"I'm gonna kill you again", Marceline grumbled, her shoulders hunched and an angry scowl painted on her pale face.

"Look, just change and get round my place, go!", Bubblegum pushed Marceline forward towards their apartment block as we made our way to ours. I knew this day would come. The day we all had to count in the Vampire Queen. . .
