"Mari! Hurry up! We are already 5 minutes late!" Marcus yelled up the stairs.
Mari didn't say anything back to him. She just came down the stairs like she does any other day. Marcus stood there gawking at Mari cause he never seen something so simple look beautiful. Mari had on a gold and black strapless dress that came just above her knew with black heels. Her smooth tan legs looked so delicious.. good enough to eat.
"I love it how you rush me, but when i'm ready to go you not movin'! I know I look good, but damn!"
Marcus finally snapped out of his daze and grabbed his keys and ushered Mari out the door. "Damn look at that ass!" Marcus thought as he walked behind Mari. He opened the car door for him and Mari gave him a strange look.
"Just because I fuck different girls all the time doesn't mean I don't have manners. How do you think I get the pussy? Marcus joked with Mari but she didn't find that joke too funny.
"See if you was any other nigga I woulda been slapped ya ass by now, but since it's just you, ima let slide. DON'T say it again. Alright? Mari said sweetly. Marcus just laughed. "The guys are gonna love this one." He thought to himself.

Marcus and Mari pulled up to the Omni hotel and Mari just stared at in amazement. She had never been to a place this nice before. Marcus just looked at her and smiled. If this made her look like that then she obviously hasn't seen nothing yet. They got out the car and walked inside and Mari felt under dressed. All the girls in here had on very designer dresses and heels and she had a dress she found at Dress Barn. Her shoes she had on atleast was nice, she borrowed them from Mrs. Robinson. She still felt under dressed.
"Marcus, i'm ready to go. I'm not good enough to be here. Matter fact i'll just catch a cab and be on my way.
"No Mari! What why?" Marcus looked around realized why she felt this way. All the girls in here were way over dressed for a team dinner. It was mandatory that the guys wear a shirt and jacket, but damn these girls act like they going to the BET awards or some shit.
"Mari, don't let these spoiled brats itimidate you. As long as you look good to me, it's all that matters."
Mari smiled at him and said, "Aw your so sweet." Marcus smiled back at her. "What do I get in return for that compliment?" Marcus said joking around. The look on Mari's face showed that she didn't find it funny.
"Oh Marcus, you were doing so well. If I was like these bitches in here i might let you hit when we got back home.." Marcus face lit up when she said that. Mari continued you on talking, "but since i'm not them,you will get slapped." She said sweetly to him. Marcus face turned to a frown and Mari started laughing. "Damn Mari you gotta be so violent."Mari just laughed some more. "It comes with the territory baby, comes with the territory." Mari walked into the area where the dinner was bein held and Marcus walked behind her with a scowl on his face.
It had been a good team dinner and most of his team mates liked Mari, but a few of them thought Kammy was better. That was probably cause she fucked the or something. The bitches didn't like her cause they said she look good enough for Marcus. The whole night Mari just kept chanting in her head what Marcus said to her. "As long as you look good to me, it's all that matters." She had never seen Marcus so calm and stress free. She could tell he had a strong love basketball and his team mates on it.
"Did you have a good night?" Marcus asked waking Mari out pf her thoughts. "Actually, yes I did. Your coach is a very funny guy. A lil pervy, but still a funny guy. Thanks for inviting, but I don't think I can attend another event if the same bitches are gonna be there. I might hit one of them and i'm to classy to be doing all of that." Mari joked with Marcus and he just laughed at her. "Don't worry Mari, you got nothing on them hoes." Mari blushed a little bit and smiled at Marcus. Nobody had ever told her that even though it sounded bad she was flattered.
"Home sweet home." Marcus said once again waking Mari out of her personal thoughts. They walked in the house trying to be quiet as possible thinking that his parents are sleeping. They made it up the stairs and past the room without waking them up. Just as Marcus was about to walk into his room, Mari ran up and hugged him from behind and whispered "goodnight" to him and walked away. He just stood there for a second and walked into his room. "Oooo I think she likes me." he thought. For the first time in awhile Marcus fell asleep with a smile on his face.
Meanwhile Mari just layed there kicking herself for her actions she just did. She kept telling herself tha she couldn't like him; that all he would do is hurt her like everyone else has before. "You know what self? Fuck it, ima take a risk with my heart and sees where it takes me!" With that thought Mari was asleep within minutes.
