"I'll be a just a second, Honey" I said, setting her in the car and closing the door.
~
"Hayden.." Grayson started.
"Why Grayson?" I asked.
He looked at me with confusion but also a bit of guilt since he had and idea of what it talking about.
"Why did you leave?" I asked.
"I wasn't ready-" I cut him off.
"And you think I was, asshole!? Did you think I was ready to raise a kid, let alone raise her by myself! You never thought of anyone but yourself when you left." I stated.
I turned around to walked to my car.
"Don't Leave, Hayden, c'mon" he begged.
"Why not? You did it." I stated.
I slammed the car door and started to drive home.
"Are you alright, mommy?" Dakotah asked.
"I'm great, princess" I lied.
She smiled and me and began to play with her seatbelt strap.
"Hey.. you wanna get ice cream before David gets home?" I asked.
"Yes!" She yelled, overly excited.
I giggled and made a U-Turn across the road.
-
"All done" she cheered.
I looked at her to see chocolate all over her face.
"Aww.. poor baby" I laughed.
"What" She asked, confused.
"You have something on your face" I stated.
She began giggling and picked up a napkin from the table.
I grabbed the napkin from her hands and wiped her face.
"All better?" She asked.
I picked her up and smothered her face with kisses.
She began laughing.
"Just perfect" I said, kissing her once more on her forehead.
"Go get you're Pajamas on. Okay, Babe?" I said, setting her down.
"Whatever you say.." a voice said behind me.
I smiled and turned around.
"David!!!" Dakotah squealed in excitement.
"Hey, pumpkin!" He yelled, opening his arms.
She ran into them and I couldn't help but think.
What did Grayson want?
Why was he back?
Did he even ever leave?
I haven't seen this dude in six years and two minutes of seeing his face is already kicking me off balance.
"Are you okay, Mommy?" Dakotah asked.
I snapped my head to her.
"Yes, Of course.. just zoned out" I stated and smiled at her.
David looked at me confused.
I mouthed 'I'll tell you later' to him and he sent me a nod.
"Let's go change!" He said, jogging to the room with Dakotah still in his hands.
I heard her giggle as he swim her around as they walked.
I sighed and walked to the bedroom.
